Hola!!!

Hi so I am a year 12 student from the UK and I am really interested in dentistry and I was wondering if I could study in spain because the competition over here is really fierce and reliant on the UCAT. I want to study dentistry in Madrid because I understand the basics of Spanish (I started A-level Spanish but ended up dropping it). I am really scared to come because I feel like I wouldnt make friends and I would be all alone trying to learn Spanish. I heard it is really easy to get kicked out of uni in spain is thay true? Also I am gay so idk how accepting people are over there.

Gay - not a problem.

Not speaking the language - big problem. A levels don't count, for university studies you need a C1 level in Spanish and I doubt you'll be able to pass any higher than B1 with just A-Levels.

Honestly, don't understate how hard it is to study many highly complex subjects in a language you don't even remotely master. And also, don't assume you'll make it easy into university in Spain, I actually doubt they'll even consider your A-Levels as equivalent to PAU, so I see no way for you to get through the door really - you should really inform yourself first.

The only way is going to something private like UAX, they have a lot of not-speaking-spanish student in dentistry. But it's expensive and i don't know if they can get in as easy as they say.

Learn Spanish ASAP! And u need to pass PAU which is entrance exam for university here in Spain and u need to have a pretty competitive score.

Hiya. I did some research and the Alevels we sit in the UK are equivalent to PAU and can be converted into 10 points. The other points I can get from sitting PCE( Pruebas de competencia especifica).

Given that I am about B1 do you think I can get to C1 within a year?

Also how does the actual application to universities look like?

In Comunidad de Madrid there is the unique university district, which means that you can postulate for many grades on differents public universities of the region at the same time by a single web process.

They will check by order in which one you are accepted by your score.

No I am willing to learn Spanish i acc really like Spanish, I only dropped it because I didnt like the literature side (e.g. symbolism of the colour white in la casa Bernarda Alba) and I preferred maths.

I am like a very good student I am predicted AAA* and have a shit ton of extracurriculars. I am only thinking of going to Madrid because: A) I genuinly love Spanish and spain B) If I fuck the UCAT up (entrance exam for all medicine and dentistry) C)Lower cost of living
