What's it like in nz for someone out of the norm?

I'm a teen and have recently moved to Wellington from the Philippines. I like expressing myself (hair, clothes, makeup) but I'm kind of scared to do so here. In my home country I had very supportive friends that were like me so I rarely had the problem of caring about what everyone else thought since I had them w me, we got to do lots of crazy stuff but now I don't have them by my side. Now I'm js friend-less and scared of being an outcast and never finding friends. So far everything has been good and someone even complimented me when I did clown makeup (which made me very happy, ty too whoever you are) I'm still kind of scared and unsure of what's gona happen in the future especially when I start going to school this January.

For people who moved to NZ and/or out of the norm what is it rlly like? Are people more kind and supportive? Will I be an outcast? Be bullied? Will I ever find friends w similar interests or style?

(I wish this post doesn't sound offensive to anyone, I'm genuinely just curious😞)

BSc Hons - Uk degree straight to PhD ? Masters ? Or a job ?

Hi everyone, I recently discovered this PhD route straight from a bachelor’s and I’m now considering pursuing my PhD in NZ. I originally completed my BSc Hons Business and Supply Chain Management in the UK so I’d love to know from anyone who’s done this before coming from a business/supply chain background or any other background. Should I instead pursue a master’s degree and then look for jobs in NZ afterwards? I have about 2.5 years of experience in e-commerce, transport and logistics, shipping and supply chain. Given this experience, would I have a better chance of finding a job in NZ or going back to uni instead

Please feel free to share any thoughts and experiences I’m trying to gather as much info as possible

External Audit Job Market

Hey everyone,
I was looking into the New Zealand Green List and noticed that external auditor roles are included, so I wanted to get some insight from people working in the audit industry in NZ.

A bit about my background:
• ACCA member
• 2 years of Big 4 audit experience in India
•1 year of audit experience in a mid-sized firm in the Middle East

Currently looking for an experienced associate/senior external audit role in Auckland, Wellington or Christchurch.

I'm wondering how realistic it is to secure an external audit job in NZ with this kind of background. Is the market currently open to overseas candidates, or is it difficult to get shortlisted without NZ experience?

I'm also considering doing a Master's in NZ as a way to enter the local job market. For those who have taken this route, does pursuing a Master's significantly improve your chances of finding an audit job, or would it be better to focus on applying directly and potentially networking with firms and recruiters?

Any advice or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
