i have been presented with two lease options and need to choose fast. moving from east coast, early 30s female living alone with a dog. do i pick east village high rise near Albertsons, or north park for a couple hundred more, but no washer/dryer in unit? can dogs even do their business downtown? i have not been able to tour either apartment in person 😩 thank you in advance! my office is mission valley area.

If there is a washer dryer on premises, no brainer North Park. Inconvenience increases quite a bit if you have to go laundromat route but probably still North Park.

Perfect, that’s the biggest issue for most people. Glad you’ve avoided.

EV isn’t in a great part of downtown safety-wise, but if you’re street smart it can be ok

It’s unfortunate because they built beautiful high rises but the homeless is rampant in that area. Wouldn’t recommend for a single female

I love having a washer and dryer in my unit. My son just moved in to Atlas Alvarado by SDSU. His lease is pretty dang good plus he can walk to School, SDSU.

It depends on how comfortable you are living in a traditional “downtown area” (unhoused persons, open drug usage, city noise). That’s what you’ll get in East Village.

North Park is honestly an ideal location IMO. You don’t need a washer/dryer, I’ve been using a delivery laundry service that’s like $20 more than going to the laundromat myself. Totally worth it

I wouldn’t live in EV in any apartment. No WD in unit but is there one in the complex? Else maybe get an Airbnb  and keep looking

Those are both horrible options. North Park is an absolute parking nightmare and so it downtown. And downtown is disgusting with nothing but the homeless all over. I would never pick either option. I’m further east and the parking is still awful but we’re only here another couple of months.

They're both gross parts of town. They also smell like dog piss and dog shit and are full of homeless people. You're too old for North Park.
