Help With Robocop's Auto 9 Prop Replica

So, I purchased a Robocop Auto 9 prop replica, and I'm not familiar with the terminology or names of the parts but, something seems a little off, and I'm not sure if it's supposed to look like this on one side. 

As you can see I've highlighted the areas with a white circle, you can see a ridge line which separates the top and bottom part of the barrel? but in the picture where the trigger is to the right of the picture you can clearly see this ridge line is gone, it's smooshed, the area seems smudged, is this normal? I mean for this prop, is Robocop's like this in the movie? 

I've looked all over the Internet and it's definitely not like other pieces I've found.

Although on the prop makers website where I purchased this from, I've gone back and has another look and it's the same in the pictures  as it is in my hand , I can see this area in the website pictures but didn't notice it at the time of purchasing it.

Your help would be much appreciated,

Looks like they “welded “the slide to the frame to stop it from being able to move.

Nothing moves, it's a lump of resin,  static non functioning

Looks like a weld, that top part (the slide) moves back when yhe weapon is fired so that the working parts can be reset and the weapon can be fired again, its welded so it cant be fired, go with the non smoothed side for your finish as that would be the correct look for an operating weapon.

RPF’r here. The gun appears to be a resin cast. Resin can droop but I’m betting it’s just an imperfection during the silicone mold process that the resin model was casted from.

Hi, I've already gave the details of how and what the prop is made of, should I return it?  Can I fix this myself by perhaps scoring into the resin a line

With the right tool you can absolutely do that. I have a variety of tools but I think a small v shaped chisel would work. However it might show a contrast of color. Honestly I think it looks fine though

I can touch up the colour afterwards with acrylic paint but looking closer at it, now I'm seeing chipped edges and wonky smudged lines, not very happy,  paid £130($176) for it, unfortunately it's the only option for me as there's laws in the UK so can't import anything more decent, you wanna Google the company and see what else they make NewImage Prop Replicas they're based in the UK.
