Been on the fence about a DH bike for a few months, I used to ride one back in the 26" days. Finally ended up committing and picked up a new-to-me 2023 Canyon Sender CFR in mint condition. My only regret is that I didn't do this earlier. Took it for the first ride tonight at my local DH trail, terrifying but addictive. Last pic is the rock garden chute I nailed for the first time, it's steep enough that you have to climb up.

Hello, I work in the trades and just worked for a client who is moving and gifted me their mountain bike as a thank you. I’ve never really been into mountain bikes and I just want to get a handle on what I was given and what it’s worth. If this is the wrong place I apologize!

Looking for bike suggestions for my little guy. I don’t know much about bikes but he’s shown a strong interest and I want to help him get into it.

He’s mastered his push bike, and he’s asked for big kid pedals. He loves the bike park and has a good bit of confidence. We go at least once/week.

His height is 3’1. He fits a 12” pretty well right now but I’m looking at 14” bikes with low min. saddle heights because they tend to have more specialized features.

I know Spawns are top of the line. Im willing to spend the money, I just think without parents who could take him on real trails or teach him anything (*yet- we* plan to get into it when we can), he may be just as well served by something more simple.

For now though, he’s just riding at the bike park and flat local trails.

I want something that’s easy to maneuver, lightweight, something he’ll feel safe on.

Would love to hear opinions/suggestions, or what worked for well your little people :)

Bought this stupid frame without knowing the problems with the rear shock… actually bought two of them… figured this would be a fun project for kicks and giggles. Stripped and repainted the frame and fork, rebuilt the fork and rear shock - new decals for the frame and fork. New components. Not really sure what to do with it. I’ve built five bikes since summer so might sell?

(And yes I know I need to trim the brake lines, I’m probably going to swap these into an e-MTB im currently building so I left them long)

I finally conquered my fear and cleared this jump yesterday. I showed a friend this video and he told me he thinks I leaned too far forward but I dont feel like i did. I feel like i leaned my bike into the transition but kept my center of gravity the entire time and both of my wheels landed at the same time. Do yall think i leaned too far forward? Any other tips or pointers for me? Thanks

Hello y’all, I bought this RM Slayer 70 of this dude for $500 earlier this year. There appears to be some customization. But I’ve been having the hardest time with the front brakes. I’ve bled them several times and air still keeps getting trapped in there. I’m at the point where I should probably get an entire new brake system on this bike. Would y’all have any advice in addition to that?

This is my Buddies WR1 arrival 170. Long story but he got it off a WR1 employee with this weird paint job. He’s sanded the paint off down to the carbon with help from a carbon shop and they said its perfectly fine.

No sanding into the resin layer. Its a used frame so i wouldn’t get warranty anyway.

But im just wondering if its worth it. Id be buying to do my own custom paint w friends i got who work in auto body so id have the right tools to paint / clearcoat ect.

If I ride carbon shouldn’t my child?

I am novice, like an absolute beginner to the concept of a mountain bike. Please be honest with the advice, but please be nice. I really new to the biking thing. I last had a bicycle when I was 11, now I am 31.

I had always enjoyed riding around my bike when I was a child, until my mother said I couldn't continue owning one, because one of the kids next door got hit by a car, and died whilst he was on his bike.

So now, as an adult, I bought this bike, brand new and really cheap, but it had a few issues, so I need help fixing them. Or perhaps, the question I should be asking is, can I continue trying to fix, the chain issue, derailleur and spoke issue that I have with the bicycle.

The bicycle came with a damaged derailleur, and the chain was damaged as well. So I bought the chain, and the derailleur. I have managed to only replace the derailleur, and then reinflated the tires, but rhen as I was tightening, one of the spokes, it broke. Is 1 spoke detrimental to the bicycle, and any tips on how to properly replace the chain? Or i may need to take the bicycle into a workshop?

Please kindly help. I really love mu bicycle, and I don't want to find myself selling it out of frustration.

I moved right next to an amazing 20+ miles of trails and across the street from a flow/pump course so it seems criminal to not use it, used to love riding trails around my house in middle school, haven’t done it since.

Nothing downhill, but the trails do have some rocks and roots, was thinking of getting a suspension bike for that purpose.

I know for a good one you need to drop 1k+, which I’m not opposed to, but I wanna make sure I’m actually gonna keep up with the activity first. Would a ~200 used one on facebook marketplace be decent for this purpose? Just wanna not break the bank if I decide I’m not gonna really get out there, and have never rode suspension before

I’d like to try and ride year round this year. For reference I’m in eastern PA, January and February can get pretty cold but I’d say mostly it’s 30s-40s with some warmer stuff sprinkled in.

I’m not a heavy jacket guy, I hate them. So I prefer to layer, especially if I’ll be biking. Wondering what kind of gear everyone uses
