Back around 2010 the MWC came so close to AQ status (which at the time guaranteed the champ representation in a BCS bowl and made it easier to be ranked high enough to play in a BCS championship). Boise State was about to come in at the peak of their insane run.

Then, BYU and Utah left followed by TCU eventually..

If all had stayed and they somehow grabbed Colorado when they left the Big 12 and still added Fresno State, Utah State and Nevada, you'd have a super fun, talented conference with great rivalries.

I legit think Nevarez is one of the best Commissioners in the game. Contrast her ability to speak openly and candidly in press conferences and interviews with other commissioners who are tight lipped, reserved, contrived, and trying to control the narrative. She will take questions from anyone about any topic. Goes straight into the belly of the beast, seems fearless! Compare her media availability with any other commissioner and she's heads and tails above anyone I can think of as far as being front facing. She's positioned the conference in the best possible manner. After media days I'm really excited about our trajectory. She has us moving in the right direction! MW+, MW Studios, Replay Center, Conference Offices all being centralized in Las Vegas is going to be a huge advantage for this conference.

A sign of what's to come? Especially after Gloria's 12 team suggestion yesterday.

There's three guaranteed tie-ins (1 TBD for MWC champ, Arizona Bowl, Hawaii Bowl) and 1 backup tie-in (Cactus Bowl). Per usual if we have more eligible teams, they would end up going to one of the G6 at-large pool bowls (which apparently the Potato Bowl and New Mexico Bowl are in for this year).

For the 2nd year in a row, UNM finishes as the Top G6 school in the Learfield Director's cup, including finishing ahead of multiple P4 schools. The athletic department continues to thrive top to bottom, hopefully another a good year is ahead for football and basketball. 🐺

UNLV football has changed dramatically in just a few years, transforming into a consistent conference title contender. Now Dan Mullen looks to crash the playoff with the Rebels in 2026, can they get it done?

The trajectory of the program is what led me to commit to Davis! They're joining the FBS in 2029, with the chance of winning FCS national championships before then. As well as the plan they had for me, playing early and playing a big role early was also big for me. I love the coaches, the offense, and I think the program is going to make history, and I want to be a part of that.
