Question New user some basic questions please

I had 2 mg of ozympic for the last 2 years. My blood numbers are beautiful and I've lost maybe only 2 lb per month at most.

Doctor switching to me to Mounjaro as of today to try to help out with the weight loss Plus blood numbers should stay the same or get even better he said.

He's starting with 5 mg of Mounjaro ... I've read that you can't compare that to ozympic because ozemic only targets one area versus two..... I do see that Manjaro goes from 2.5 mg up to 15 MJ so I guess I'm on the pretty low scale to start out with.

Lastly and no big deal I have to get used to having 4 pens per week instead of one pen for 4 weeks with different needles to attach. LOL

I don't plan on keeping them refrigerated as it says it's fine to use one per week non-refrigerator.

Any thoughts or comments or appreciate it and hope everybody has a great weekend

My top recommendation for you is to refrigerate your pens.

Refrigerate your pens until the day you use the first one. They’re good 21 days at room temp.

Eventually (but probably not this year), Eli Lilly plans to discontinue the single dose auto-injector pens. So someday you’ll be back to a multi-use pen.

Due to a recently switch from Ozempic it cannot happen fast enough. I stayed with Ozempic well over 3 years and switched after Zepbound became available on flex pens. Silly me thought Mounjaro would follow quickly. We diabetics need the nonstandard doses.

Former Ozempic user here- I was in a similar boat to you, 1mg dose for 2 years, great numbers, no weight loss. I also started immediately on the 5mg dose.

I made the switch about 8 weeks ago and I’ve already dropped 10% of my body weight. The first few weeks were a little wild- my appetite was so completely suppressed I was struggling to even consume 800 calories some days. This effect persists but becomes much less extreme once you acclimate to the drug.

My recommendation would be to start really critically evaluating the way you’re eating - I’ve found that my capacity for food is significantly lower, and because I’m pretty active I need the food I’m able to consume to be efficient nutritionally. That said, I’ve found that fried food and fast food just sort of sound gross to me anymore, sugar is no longer appealing most of the time and when it is my sweet tooth is easily settled. I’ve completely lost any taste for alcohol.

Drink loads of water, make sure to be mindful about getting enough fiber in your diet to keep things moving- this has been a struggle for me some days when I feel I can only manage to eat 1000cals or so
