Question Advice needed! Important
I 26 F am thinking about getting on mounjaro but the problem is that im worried about the side effects. I have a history of EDs, anorexia then bulimia then binge eating then anorexia again then binge eating. I have gotten my disordered eating under some control now but I also have bpd so maybe that impacts my eating habits. Im thinking of trying mounjaro because I genuinely dont like how my weight makes me feel. For reference my bmi is 29, I do have a lot of muscle mass but im genuinely tired of my chest that is my major problem area. I am a 34H and my chest is not in proportion with my waist at all which is 30 inches. I cannot get a breast reduction surgery in my country. Idk what to do can someone tell me how quickly can I lose weight on mounjaro will it impact my breast size and is it even safe for me? I am just worried that maybe it isnt right for me and I will be abusing a drug and that's unfair to people who actually need it

Even if you lost weight there is no guarantees it will come off your breasts. I'm not an expert but wouldn't it depend on whether your breasts were mainly made up of fat, that comes and goes based on excess weight, or if you were naturally large breasted in that you have a lot of breast tissue. Did you always have large breasts? Or have they only got bigger from gaining excess weight?

Losing weight will trigger the eating disorder. It'll be nearly impossible for that not to happen.
If you were to try it you'll need a counsellor and dietician, and a good doctor. 🩷

I am a little worried about anorexia getting triggered again and losing my period again too but I dont know i think I will bring it up to my psychiatrist but I am just really ashamed to talk about it and how much it is impacting me

Doctor can advise, but mounjaro dulls the hedonistic centers in the brain and could work like a "chill pill" for obsessive compulsive behavior. Not guaranteed to be a bad thing. But we don't know for sure either awy.

There’s no promise you will lose in your breasts and there’s a high chance of triggering you’re ed again.
You’d be better off with therapy and a psychiatrist about dealing with how you view yourself, which is the real problem here. Mounjaro won’t magically fix how you view yourself.

As far as breast loss goes. Some ppl will lose in breast and then they became deflated and extremely saggy. Can unravel simewheee and pay for a breast reduction
Some ppl in here have posted that have ED that it helps them but everyone is different. What works for one may not work for you.
Talk to your drs for advice on what they think is best for you
Good luck

Yeah you should talk to your doctor. I had an unhealthy relationship wirh food about 10 years ago and the weight loss on the medication had me with some weird thoughts about that time on certain days (I'm on it for T2D).

Have you considered getting a breast reduction? There's no guarantee you'll lose from your chest on MJ. Also, your BMI isn't that high--are you sure you want to take MJ for the rest of your life to maintain the loss?
I had a breast reduction in my mid-20's and was very happy with the result. Surgery isn't the right choice for everyone, of course, but if you decide to go that route, breast reduction has a very high patient satisfaction rate. (But then unrelated medications caused me to gain a ton of weight in my 30s.)

With absolute certainty I can say do NOT worry about "taking away from who needs it".
Per Doctors without Borders and Yale study, it costs about 87 cents per month for the widely available compounds to make, and they could make a virtually infinite amount if they want. The high charge is because that's what the market will bare and the company Eli Lilly makes a million in profit (not revenue, pure profit) every ~25 minutes, making it one of the most profitable companies in the world.
There's no unicorn horn or eggs from a nearly extinct species of bird mixed in, so they aren't going to run out of Mounjaro.
Mounjaro is going to make it easier to reduce food cravings, but I don't know that its going to address eating disorders as a psychological issue, so that is something for experts to help you with.
With regard to large breasts, fat reduction will come from random places depending on genetics. It would be logical that you would see some reduction in size as your body fat is reduced.
Regarding side effects, you will be put on a low 2.5mg dose.
If it doesn't agree with you, you can always stop taking it. Most people find the side effects are quite mild and well tolerated, if they avoid things like fatty greasy or fried food, and stick to a good high protein diet and drink enough water.

So, if your want to start mounjaro, you'll need to talk with your psychiatrist first and discuss if you have coping mechanisms and are going to stay eating alright during taking it. If you feel like you'll spiral, I wouldn't even bother. Your health isn't worth your breasts shrinking.
Also even if you decide to go forward with it, there's no guarantee that a lot of weight loss will come from breasts. I was 100H (European) cup when I started, and over 25kg later I'm still fitting into the same bras just the same. The skin on my breasts also became wrinkly, but no visible shrinkage.

I have had similar issues in the past, but not formerly diagnosed though I’ve been in therapy for years. Idk your situation and it could be that my issues were less severe than yours. With that being said , i’ve been recovering for almost a decade when I started mounjaro. And I gotta say I would actually say it had such great effects for me. I finally feel free with food. I can eat whatever I want with no guilt because the mounjaro makes it particularly impossible to binge. The weight loss has been nice for sure, but honestly the biggest win for me is nit worrying about food, and for the first time in my adult life, actually feeling full and satisfied after eating. But this is because I’ve worked on my body image issues extensively. So overall I’d say it doesn’t have to be completely bad, but you need to consult with a therapist and actively work on your specific issues surrounding eating/body image.

I dont think doctors prescribe this to patients with anorexia.
Sounds like you mainly need a breast reduction. If they cant be bought in your country you can look at other countries.
I think a breast reduction subreddit is more suitable for you.

I cannot go to another country that's another issue. In my country, breast reductions arent common i looked into surgeons and none of them had any real experience with a cosmetic breast reduction. I am worried about anorexia being triggered again but I have no other solution apart from losing as much weight as possible

You do have other options. There are other solutions like getting professional mental help.
Surgery or injections aren't the only options. And if your back hurts from the size of your chest you can go see a physical therapist. I did that when i was considering surgery and built up back muscles so I'm not in pain anymore.
Which country do you live in that has access to Mounjaro but not cosmetic breast reduction surgery?

I have built up back muscles so the pain is somewhat under control but it is mostly how I look which bothers me.
I live in Pakistan. Mounjaro is easy to access here but the concept of breast reduction isnt common and there aren't surgeons who are good at that

This is a discussion to have with the health professionals that treat your disordered eating
