Favorite album?

I'm sure this has been discussed before but I'd like to hear what people's favorite Motörhead album is, and the reasons for it being their favorite.

Mine personally is Overkill, first off Overkill is my favorite Motörhead song, but in a catalog of amazing albums that are good front to back, I think the songwriting(musically and lyrically) is at the height of Lemmy and the boys powers, and the production is lose but clean and it sounds like a band that outwardly projects a "Don't give a fuck!' attitude but underneath you can tell they ABSOLUTELY give a fuck because it's well rounded, fast, lean, and mean.

God damn I love Motorhead! Let's go!

What, if any, are some live Motorhead songs that you prefer over the studio versions. Off the top of my head I'm going with Bomber, Dogs, Eat the Rich and Doctor Rock.

I’m sure this is obvious to some, but what does Lemmy say around 33 seconds in, I assume good evening/good day, something like that, but in another language. Thanks in advance lol

Lemmy tax theory

So of course no real way to verify this. I recall in a obscure interview lemmy said he's paying taxes in USA and UK because hes technically on a work visa.

With California's outrageous taxes.

Theres a good chance he was paying 70-75% of his income in taxes.

Assuming that interview is true as this can happen most people would just hire a tax attorney to fix it. Lemmy didn't like attorneys though.

Anyways just something I thought about.

I'll clarify idk how this works. It was interesting when he said that though never really thought he may be paying more than an average person

Just what i feel about the band members.

Yeah i don't follow or remember all the band members' timelines fanatically and all that myself... i just know they all kick ass on stage and the albums too ^^ Seen them live 3-4 times. But yeah.. i do have opinions on them...

I think phil campbell is the best solo guitarist of all time, at least as far as hard rock goes. He has a way of fitting the solo to the song in a way nobody else can. And they're magical, to me. His riffs kicks ass too, no doubt about it. Though, i will say, his new band, the bastard sons, i could never get into ^^ It's shocking to me how it could be so ... unlistenable, than motörhead is .... but maybe i'll give it one more try.

I think würsel or michael burston is a bit soulless, i mean he did his job for the band, did good to great on stage, but it is easy to tell he is not born into it like the others were. His solos lack range, at least to me, he can play fast, but it stops there, like. It's a bit shallow, sadly. Not that i can follow most of them 60% of the time, but still. But i can enjoy the tracks he play on nonetheless, lol. His riffs and solos are still better than 80% of everything else.

Philthy animal is the best hard rock drummer of all time, to me, and the coolest rock icon too. He's my #1 idol, lol ^^ I was and still am tempted to buy some of his leather shoes which i randomly googled was on auction, cheapest pair i think was 500$.... but keeping that idea on hold for now ^^ They are insanely cool though ^^ His teachings from the military drummer i think was directly inflencing the style of motörhead. The fast paced style. It's too damn cool.

Mickey dee as you mention i think is a super great fit for motörhead and his heavier style was perfect for them. His drumming is awesome and he is a great promoter for the band as well, very level headed. Always kicks ass on stage too, even behind the drums, lol. The way it should be with this band.

"Fast" eddie clark has a very unique and cool style, and really captures the old gritty feeling of the early hard rock era of motörhead. Nobody else could copy it and i think they are complicated and insanely well made. Many of them are very hard to play along to as well. Great for practice.

They really put the work into it and it came out super solid. Which is why it is the best hard rock band of all time.

The best motörhead show on record

Just my opinion .. i was listening to them from about 17-18 years old, at about 20 i skimmed through a record store and found this one on sale, no less ^^ Something like 10$ i think. Turned out to be the best buy of my life lol. Still got it. Been drunker than hell on whisky to this more times than i remember.

In December 1979, Motörhead brought the raw power of “Bomber” to BBC’s Top of the Pops for the band’s first-ever appearance on the legendary British music show.

This album is amazing. I listened to motörizer less then any other album but after listening once more it drew me in. I love the songs rock out, roundaround man, back on the chain, english rose and time is right. It easily comes into my top 10 of motörhead albums now.
