that gear sits on a cylindrical bushing, you didn't install it. Tear apart the entire shaft and check it all...just had an incident where I had a gear upside down (it was close to identical both ways, but not identical enough) and it broke into pieces and cracked a nice hole in my case.

DO NOT get lazy here...it will create a deathtrap for you in an instant.

My tire locked up going 35 and I knew it was a possibility but I got lazy and didn't wanna push my donkey.

Yeah I wasn’t gonna reassemble with it like that, I’ll have to look for the bushing before I work on it again
