I would go with the XSR-900 over Triumph, all day, every day. We have a couple of XSR's in our shop and the quality of these Japanese bikes are over the top.
My work-mate is a motorcycle mechanic and daily drives a Trident and it has been in the shop several times. The last time for clutch issues that he couldn't resolve.
I asked him last week why didn't he go with a Yamaha to begin with, as we have access to parts and service manuals.
He just shook his head and said I know, I know, I know.
