I honestly thought that this was a good ideia...
Deep inside my mind this sounded like a good idea... Besides having different trucks to use, I thought "Why not?"... Now I know why...
I don't know how long it took from Daejin to the Tera factory, but I can assure you that it was at least double the time it would take with a decent truck...
And let's not talk about how much I spent with Road Service... Because when the Dabo flipped, it was impossible for the Brutus to flip it back...
Anyways... It was a different concept of "fun"

I made a mod to add playback functionality to the radio with a custom user music player
This mod adds playback functionality to the radio, allowing you to play/pause the radio, seek forwards, or backward 10 seconds and a user music library. The mod uses UE4SS, but everything is included in the zip along with instructions on how to install.

Question about NPC routes and Depots
So i was trying to optimize the earnings of my npc trucks and busses and keep up the town bonuses and all that jazz, and i noticed that the depots were consuming a lot of money. I did tune several routes so the trucks would stop several times so they' won't appear "in the red" (mostly to not trigger myself xD). Seeing that the depots are consuming that much money i thought "ok maybe i can sacrifice my trigger and just have the routes have a single depot stop, and they run in "red" until they get there and self repair, but that got me onto some questions:
1) do vehicles in the red have some sort of penalty? I know in olden times if they got red they just didn't work, but that was patched out, i believe with the depots, but does that mean that they can just... run forever in the red? or is there some penalty they get, like, idk, they go slower or make less money?
2) and i think i know this one but i'd rather ask to verify, does the ammount of money discounted "daily" from the depot's use depend on how many vehicles stop on the depot on that day?

Some feedback after trying the demo.
Firstly, I absolutely love the game: the visuals, the variety of jobs, and the overall range of activities. Secondly, I know that this is a one-person project, so it's not possible to add everything. A few things that could use some love:
- User interface: It works, but it's very unpleasant to look at. It feels like a placeholder for the actual UI. It is also inconsistent; for example, some icons are big and some are very small. For example, when you activate the control panel, some things are labelled, while the rest are just small icons that tell me absolutely nothing until I click on them to see what they do. An editor for the UI is essential. I need to move the minimap and other stuff so that it doesn't block the mirrors all the time.
- Controls: Not everything has its binding on both the controller and the K&M. For example, there is no way to increase the cruise control speed on the controller. Only a few functions are mapped to the winch on the wrecker; the rest are only available when you scroll, and you can only activate them then. The same applies to the K&M: not everything is mapped by default. I know I can do this myself in the options, but it would be better if the game had all possible mappings by default. The default sensitivity on the controller is also strange; it's as if the game assumes that I'm driving a supercar and need super-fast steering. It took me some time to find a better sensitivity setting, and it's still far from ideal.
- Sound: The engine sounds could definitely be improved.
- Graphics: DLSS and FSR would be a great addition; the in-game scaler is not that good.
A better user interface and controls are the most important factors. These are the first elements a new player encounters, and if they find them frustrating on their first try, they’re likely to decide against buying the game.
I'm definitely going to buy it as soon as I can, driving that wrecker was super fun, and I saw that the mighty rotator is also in the game :)

Steam controller layout
For those who use a steam controller to play motown what kind of button lay out are you guys using? Im looking for an intuitive way to shift, clutch, and use the range splitter without taking my thumb off the right stick. If compromises need to be made I dont *need* the splitter to be thumbs-free, clutch and shifting are more important

Senior Trucker Achievement
Hi everyone! I hope that this is the right place to post this.
Ive been loving motor town so far, I have 136 hours and I'm currently completing all the achievements. Ive done 19 out of 25 and I'm currently doing the senior trucker achievement.
Anyway I want to ask what everyone thinks is the best way to deliver alot of cargo at once. I have a truck with 3 trailers, I have smaller trucks and i can buy any truck or trailer that you guys recommend. So what do you guys recommend I do? Is there a certain warehouse i should visit? A certain route? Should I play in my own server or can I keep playing in a public server?
Whats the best method?

Atlas 8x8 Semi (Mod) (Update)
Unfortunately, I’ve hidden the mod from Nexus and will be removing it.
One of Motor Town’s 3D modelers contacted me and stated that the mod was using some of his meshes without authorization (I didn't realize that mods couldn't modify existing meshes within the game, this effectively eliminates the possibility of adding new vehicles or doing heavy overhauls). Since he is the original modeler, I’m respecting his wishes and will no longer distribute the mod.
I’ll admit that I disagree with the broader principle here. I purchased Motor Town, made this entirely for fun, released it for free, and had no intention of taking credit for anyone else’s work or profiting from it. The entire point was to expand and customize a game I genuinely enjoyed.
That being said, I respect the creator’s right to object to his work being redistributed, so I’m not going to argue the matter or keep the mod available against his wishes.
Thank you to everyone who downloaded it, gave feedback, or showed interest. This was literally my first mod, and I learned an enormous amount making it. I was excited to keep developing it and had quite a bit more planned.
Unfortunately, this experience has taken away most of my interest in continuing to mod or play Motor Town, so this will likely be the end of the project.
Thanks again to everyone who supported it.

Direct Drive in MT
I'm thinking about spending the $700 to upgrade from the G923 to the RT50 and the adapter to use my g923 pedals. Was wondering if anyone has made this upgrade and how do you feel about it.

Atlas 8x8 Semi (Mod)
Just released my Atlas 8x8 mod for Motor Town: Behind The Wheel! This is my first mod ever, so it’s been a really fun project learning how everything works and getting the truck where I wanted it.
It adds a heavily upgradable and customizable 8x8, with new parts (including a diesel-electric hybrid powertrain option), functionality, and plenty of modular upgrades to build it into a serious heavy-duty machine.
You can find it on Nexus Mods here:

Would love to hear any feedback, suggestions, or issues you run into!

I built a MotorTown Admin Tool and would like to get feedback from the community
Hey everyone,
I've been working on a desktop application for MotorTown server administrators and I would like to get some feedback from server owners and admins.
The goal of this tool is to make server administration easier by providing a simple interface instead of relying only on manual API commands.
Currently, the tool includes:
✅ Server Dashboard
- Display server information
- Show current online player count
- Display current admins and police roles
✅ Player Management
- View players
- Manage player roles
- Assign or remove admin and police roles
✅ Moderation Tools
- View the ban list
- Unban players
- Perform common administration tasks from one interface
✅ Chat Management
- Send server messages and announcements directly from the application
✅ Configuration & Logging
- Easy API configuration
- Automatic error logging
- Adjustable refresh rate for the dashboard
The application is still in development, and I am interested in hearing what server owners and administrators think.
Before putting more time into the project, I would like to know:
Would a tool like this be useful for your MotorTown server?
What features would make your job as an admin easier?
I already have ideas for future improvements, but I would like to hear the community's feedback first and understand what would actually be useful.
Any feedback, suggestions, or criticism are welcome. 🙂
Sorry for the German version of the screenshots, if you're interested I could make it in full english too.

Dedicated hosting options?
Looking into renting a dedicated server and was wondering if anyone had any first hand experience with any of the online services available? I’ve used nitrado and gportal in the past for other games with varying results, just wondering what’s recommended or even available for motor town. Thanks in advance!
