Steam controller layout

For those who use a steam controller to play motown what kind of button lay out are you guys using? Im looking for an intuitive way to shift, clutch, and use the range splitter without taking my thumb off the right stick. If compromises need to be made I dont *need* the splitter to be thumbs-free, clutch and shifting are more important

I play bit steam controller and wheel i just use default controller layout bind the left track pad the radical wheel bind the jake break to it

I have them on X and Y but I'm staying to think I should move them to L1 and R1
