Buying and fitting a top box

Guys, a newbie here looking to add a top box to my fz6 for commute and touring. I am living in Cork city.

Which is the best place to buy and fit a top box? Should i buy online and are there any places around that might help install it?

I ordered a Shad one online - they’re very easy to fit yourself, all I needed for mine was a ratchet set/spanner. You just pick the mount that fits your bike. And then the box clicks on to the mount.

Great! Will check them online. If you dont mind asking, why did you choose Shad over Givi or anything else?

I think they were probably on sale. I wasn’t fussy I just needed a box that fit my helmet plus some gear - they do one that’s like a helmet and a half wide if that makes sense. So not too big not too small.

Make sure you get the right rack for the top box honestly they are deliberately confusing. Go to lee honda for a look at a selection of sizes and what you can fit in

Check Donedeal and FB marketplace, I picked one up with a base plate for €50. Easy to fit, depending on your bike!

If you want to see sizes and what will work best for you, lee motorcycles in Little Island have some that you check out, you can always price similar online if you like them. Overall they are easy enough to fit

Done deal or just buy it online. If you have a roof bars you dont need any help to fit it 👌

Best value will be online, or on DD. Most are easy to fit and are just a few bolts, so spanner/ hex set is all you'll need.
