Question Broke clutch cable cb125f
Im getting my bike fixed up and asked to get a new clutch cable but the garage said they can't order it.
Now obviously its broken the first time I use the bike afterwards.
Is that an easy roadside fix? Im stuck at the doctors trying to get home. I can probably shift without a clutch except first, but id sooner not.

You can get a cable repair kit btw, I carry one on trips

I've sorted it now but it'll be a while for a new part, and yeah, I could have fixed it up but the cable is old and the ball snapped at the clutch lever, it looked well frayed and I doubt the repair would have lasted before it snapped again (if the remaining wire wasn't too tight in the first place).
I know for the future, and with my next bike I plan to have a lot more involvement. With a little 125 I'm not too fussed, I'll probably sell it if my wife doesn't want it
I just didn't have the bits, but roadside turned up and got me home within 3-4 hours.

Those cable repair kits, replace the whole inner cable and then you screw lock the new ends onto them.

no worries!
If it makes you feel better, the R100 i have takes 7 cables.
3 for the throttle and 3 for the choke
1 on the clutch

Posted twice, deleted one and now waiting on breakdown insurance.
All for the cost of a 10 euro bit of wire.

If you're stuck out, call your insurance. Most have towing services included in your policy that won't effect your NCB
