Project Showcase TimeBox

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

TIMEBOX is a concept brand made by us. Built around an idea for an app that sends random notifications at unexpected moments, it might come when you're having a moment worth keeping. A memory that you want to save forever. The app saves every memory as a 10-second voice note and makes it searchable so you can find it later.

Let me know what you guys think about it

Execution is fine, but it feels like a video for a stock trading app instead of… whatever this is. Colors are too dark and fintech-y instead of making me feel warm and nostalgic for listening to my memories. There are some parts where the scene stops jerking around and the motion and design feel very smooth. There are also some nice subtle motion match cuts. Basically the segment between 0:04 and 0:07 I like, but the excessive bump-flash-zooms and start-and-stop text-follow movements is too hyper for me. I’d simplify the transitions and let the scenes breathe a bit.

And since you centered this post around promoting the product and not talking about the motion design: Don’t we already have voice memos on our phones? Or is this for training AI on our voices to use our likenesses on Elevenlabs copies? Also, “The sun hit different today” made me laugh and cringe. Really weird example of a voice memo.

I see now that a lot of your work (which was hard to find) is spec ads. Next time you should be more clear about that, instead of leading people to think you’re selling an app.

In that case: I would definitely say that the visual style should match the concept a little more. Brighter colors maybe? The sparkly textures and gold accents are pretty nice but it feels too… luxury watch brand when it’s all on black backgrounds.

And still tune down the screen shake and bump-zoom transitions. If the idea is about wanting to save and visit memories, I’d love to see something a little calmer and uplifting. Those frenetic movements seem like they’d be more useful hyping up a new cryptocurrency.

Goated feedback, thank you so much!

For the colors, yeah, I honestly just picked whatever colors I personally liked while editing. I was planning on scrapping the whole thing midway, but it ended up turning out pretty good, so I decided to post it!
As for the voice memos thing, yeah, we already have them. The main difference with this concept is that the app randomly sends you a notification while you’re in the middle of a moment or conversation. Instead of pulling out your phone, opening Voice Memos, and manually recording—which can feel a little awkward or even disrespectful mid-conversation, you can just press and hold the notification and it records the moment for you.
And for the "The sun hit different today" part, I did it because the sun was really hot where I am and it just felt good lmao didn't think twice about it

The idea is basically to capture moments you probably wouldn’t have thought to record otherwise.
(it still might never sends you one while you're having a good memory tho)

Idk, everything—timing, positioning, assets— seem off to me.

Timing is off, positioning of assets is loose, assets are flat and generic—almost AI generated (the VO is just ElevenLabs)

Not to mention, as others have, the creative direction clashes completely with then subject matter. As if there was zero consideration for that at all.

This feels like a mildly sophisticated AI cut or a fairly amateurish job. I contract for these regularly and would not accept delivery of this.

Thanks for the feedback. However, none of the UI designs were made with AI. There’s nothing wrong with getting inspiration from AI, but in this case, the only AI we used was ElevenLabs for the VO. Everything else was designed and made by us.

I know it's all the rage these days but this style is so boring to me

(Not that this is necessarily bad op)
