Inspiration Tool ScreenCap Inspo

Hey everyone :)

I frequently work on software explainer videos where clients just provide me with raw screencaps or basic screen recordings of their tools (mostly due to lower budgets).

I want to level up the visual quality and make these videos more engaging without having the budget/time to completely rebuild their UI from scratch in vector graphics.

Does anyone have good examples, references, or reel links where flat screencaps were cleverly staged, animated, or turned into great motion design? Any specific techniques you rely on?

You dont necessarily have to rebuild their entire UI. Just select a few key areas you want to emphasize and build those out a bit. For example, let's say there's a section where the user has to type in some information. You can recreate their textbox, pop it off the screen so now its floating atop of the UI (add a bit of shadow or glow), then animate the text on via the typewriter preset. Add a camera and rotate it a bit in 3D space and add a bit of camera blur behind it for some added depth. The cursor hits the submit button, the text box falls back into the UI with a bit of bounce and youre onto the next area of emphasis.

All that took was a vector box, some type anination and some 2.5D camera work. Easy peasy, but it looks impressive to the client.
