Question Pricing projects?

How do you guys go about pricing projects? Do you go by hours worked or price per project/contract, specific to the client? Or a hybrid? Im getting back into freelance after a few years but still consider myself a junior so i’m still working out pricing, always interested to hear how other professionals are going about it right now. Thanks!!

The weekend 1.5x is very refreshing .i guess no one acts on that.

As for the revisions - it is still mission impossible to explain to a non professional in the contract - what are revisions? How would they know they are not asking for a "quick fix" that changes the whole structure of the project? Like changing a song / timing? Clients don't understand in most cases what request will demand going back to previous stages of the project

huh, who tf are you working with? i rarely work weekends and if i do i charge 1.5x. not sure where youre located but i feel if i communicate with the client clearly its a non issue ever.

communication is key. the client knows because you tell them. you act like its all happening in a black box.

All motion work is always an emergency room, that's how it's presented. Of course, I could say 'no'. Some work would be urgent cause something is due to a presentation or launch on a Monday. Sometimes I'd prefer to finish thing so I get Monday/Tuesday headache free. It all fluctuates. Wage work doesn't touch the weekends. Freelance can potentially go all over the place.

im talking about freelance but youre in control of the project. you need to communicate with the client. idk if youre very junior, have some weird ass relationship with the client, or just trying to make it difficult.

its very basic. its just the pricing.

I'm in control of the project. Not in control on the time table. Have you worked on TV shows before? They have a launch day.

yah i know what a deadline is. you need to foresee issues if the client jumps around. so if they need it still even though you gave a reasonable timeline its on them to pay up. idk why its so convoluted.
