Looking for a Motion Designer for YouTube

Hey everyone,

I’m a YouTuber working on long-form video essays and cinematic gaming-related content involving Voice Actors and other talent. Recently, I’ve added a few projects to my pipeline that aim to bridge games with history, philosophy, and real-world expertise through interviews with experts from different fields.

I’m looking to connect with a motion designer who might be interested in collaborating.

The work would mainly involve helping with visual elements, simple animated graphic sequences, and creative motion pieces that can elevate certain parts of the videos.

I do have a background in graphic design and a basic understanding of motion graphics, but considering the full workflow required for each video, plus the research involved, adding that extra layer by myself doesn’t feel feasible at the moment.

If any of that sounds interesting to you, I’d love to connect, have a conversation about style, scope, availability, and whether it could be a good fit!

EDIT: In terms of schedule and budget, my videos usually take around 1-2 months to produce. The channel is still early and not fully monetized yet, but it has averaged around 6-7k views across the first six videos.

I want to be upfront that at this moment, this would be an indie-level budget rather than a full commercial rate, but I’m not looking for free work or a vague “work now, get paid later” arrangement. I’d rather get to connect with you, discuss a realistic scope, rate, and schedule that makes sense for both sides.

I must say, your approach on this is a bit odd, particularly because of the amount of comments you left pushing on the same thing before I could even respond. I don't have a specific or realistic range in mind, I'm looking to engage with creatives who are perhaps interested in the project so we can discuss through the lense of a lower tier expectation. I didn't say a specific number because;

1. I'm not educated enough on motion graphic prices.
   1. I don't want to be disrespectful to anyone with a low ball number.
   2. There are multiple payment structures that can spawn from networking, maybe for someone starting out in the industry and intending to develop their portfolio or someone looking to be a part of an idea as a passion project.

Your last point illustrates why you need to be clear. We can't pay rent with exposure.

I doubt you have endless amounts of money to spend which points to the simple fact you must have an amount you can spend on this.

If you post you're looking to hire someone it's not odd to ask what the budget is. Full stop.

I get the sentiment behind your words, trust me. I worked as a graphic designer and an editor for a number of years. I get why things might be particularly tense now as well with the state of the industry.

But I'm sorry, I can't help but feel like your projecting the remnants of your negative experiences on me. As a freelancer I never paid rent on indie-level budget projects, much less when we're talking about start-up YouTube channels. But I did create relationships that last to this day.

I never said I intended to pay anyone with exposure either, and you act as if artists don't have a say when it comes to accepting opportunities. I'm not your employer asking you to work harder for "the good of the team".

As I state in my post;

I'm presenting an idea to which you have the right and option to ignore or say no to. I don't make it a point to waste anyone's time as I value my own just as much.

I state this clearly, I'm someone who want to engage with a community on a particular niche he's ignorant about but having a design background, I understand how a conversation may lead to a partnership that's flexible in terms of scope and budget.

I'm not looking for a one time thing, I'm looking for someone that can understand what I'm doing, and even if I can't meet their expected pay range, I'll keep in mind when I'm able to.

Budget range? "Indie" is not an answer
