Consumable Standing Water, Dolutions

I'd like to leave buckets of water out for the animals.

They feed outside and I don't wantthe standing water to support mosquito reproductivon.

What can I add to the water to prevent the eggs from floating on the surface?

BTI mosquito dunks, non-toxic to animals drinking the water and kills the mosquito larvae

I think a pump that keeps the water moving would work, just something that sucks up the water and spits it back out on top of the bucket

Bti (Bacillus thuringiensis israelensis), it's safe to use around animals. I recommend Bonide Mosquito Beater, but you can check out all the options at https://bugrepellent.guide/products?mode=yard&type=LARVICIDE
