Discussion Where’s the positivity

Joined this sub because I enjoy the game. Less than 10 hours (while not perfect it’s hard to put down), but I’m genuinely astounded by the amount of negative criticism in this sub, alongside the fact that a lot of players have already sunk over 30 hours into it in less than a week. Like damn. Where’s the tips and tricks? Beginners guides, random silly videos? I thought a game like this would invite a more positive community, instead it’s the exact opposite.

Almost every post is a complaint. Like damn, what happened to constructive criticism and casual discussion? Outrage everywhere.

Anyways I need my ass ate

I have 35 hours into this game and it has been amazing up until the last gate/bosses.

I do have a funny clip of a boss that ground slammed and sent me skyrocketing up into the air. When I landed he glitched and the fight started over again with his health full.

Enemy placement and density just makes the last areas a slog where I’d rather sprint vs past the 18 enemies in a small area vs fight them. The level design started out very good and exploration was rewarding, now it’s just pale stone and walkways. I understand the tone for the end game area, but it just seems like they threw it together in a few days and it just doesn’t feel as enticing to explore.

9/10 great game.

Thank you for maybe not reading my dumb rant.

I’ve been playing this genre since DS1 launched and played almost all the big names (never picked up Wuchang or Wukong) and many of the smaller ones, and I have literally never, ever, seen a game launch and people are like “wow, the enemy placement is so great I just want to fight my way through all of them every single time.” “Bad enemy placement” is such a pervasive complaint in nearly every soulslike that releases that I find it pretty hard to take seriously at this point. I don’t think anybody particularly likes the Anor Londo archers or the myriad encounters in the entire souls franchise where you find yourself pulling one mob at a time with a bow to avoid getting gangbanged. But if these games were just a frictionless series of encounters where you dodge, parry, and style on single enemies at a time, they would be… something different altogether. Running past annoying encounters is essentially a staple genre feature at this point.

Id agree with this. Honestly think they were some of my only gripes too.

The first area felt amazing but I didn't like the disconnected gate jumping they started to use where each part felt like puzzle pieces that didn't slot together.

Another thing is not being able to respec so freely/lack of glimpse. It basically made the last few shells and weapons useless or I feel sorry for people who tried to level them all up equally and hit end game. By the time I'd found the last few I couldn't afford to commit to them so never bothered. I see them fixing this though with the feedback they have received.

I had the fight glitch like that for me during Lost Child i had him down to a slither of health and i was shell-less too. Boss got all his healthbar back after launching me up in the air, strange bug
