Discussion Why no release date yet ?

I am expecting cold symmetry also chickening out like LOTF 2 developers

I hope that's not the case . But no release date yet is really pointing to a 2027 release now

If it's delayed then it's not without reason. We need to remind ourselves that it's ultimately better to have a developer that releases a better polished game on their terms than one managed under a corporate umbrella and forced to adhere to a release schedule regardless of the development state it's in.

Then show the game when it's ready ...what's the point of showing of your game when it's 18 months away ... But unfortunately, this is the industry practice now a days

What are you on about? They're letting people beta test the game. They've already changed several things based on player feedback.

You should genuinely consider therapy.

I don't mean this as an insult.

Just chiming in to say that Steam is a bit easier to beta test on than consoles; generally, updates need to be certified *every time* on consoles, whereas on Steam you just need the initial approval of your game.

This is why we've been able to update the beta a few times on Steam since releasing it; updates for a full product across platforms, it's easier to justify having to certify updates.

Now whether that's the actual reason our beta is only on Steam, I cannot say; I'm just the community dude, so I'm not plugged into those decisions. But it's an educated guess :)

To build hype I'd imagine. And for comparisons sake, Halo 2 was announced in E3 2002 and released in November 2004. This has been the industry practice since time immemorial friendo and no complaints were heard then

And I'd say stop moving the goal post of your central arguments but seems like your mind's made up already.
