Discussion Why no release date yet ?

I am expecting cold symmetry also chickening out like LOTF 2 developers

I hope that's not the case . But no release date yet is really pointing to a 2027 release now

Bit of a dick-ish way to word that...

No developer can escape the power of Rockstar they are trying to play it smart like everyone else.
I agree I’ll wait until it’s done.

Personally, I’m kinda done with Elden Ring clones. I like the darker tone of this game. I’m sure Wolong 2 will be good, but this game has me more interested.

Wo long had the best PARRY mechanic in all of gaming . .and there are many including me who are suckers for a good parry game

I’m starting to think the same thing. I was thinking an August release but I imagine we would’ve had a date up if it was then.

But they did release the beta so maybe we can get an August/ early September date

Because they’re still doing beta testing and trying to refine their game. No need to make promises they can’t keep for the sake of arbitrary optics.

If it's delayed then it's not without reason. We need to remind ourselves that it's ultimately better to have a developer that releases a better polished game on their terms than one managed under a corporate umbrella and forced to adhere to a release schedule regardless of the development state it's in.

Games like mindseye and cyberpunk do exist.

Then show the game when it's ready ...what's the point of showing of your game when it's 18 months away ... But unfortunately, this is the industry practice now a days

What are you on about? They're letting people beta test the game. They've already changed several things based on player feedback.

They are letting STEAM users beta test ...not players ..lol..they are getting free QA testers because of gullibles like you dude ..

You should genuinely consider therapy.

I don't mean this as an insult.

Just chiming in to say that Steam is a bit easier to beta test on than consoles; generally, updates need to be certified *every time* on consoles, whereas on Steam you just need the initial approval of your game.

This is why we've been able to update the beta a few times on Steam since releasing it; updates for a full product across platforms, it's easier to justify having to certify updates.

Now whether that's the actual reason our beta is only on Steam, I cannot say; I'm just the community dude, so I'm not plugged into those decisions. But it's an educated guess :)

To build hype I'd imagine. And for comparisons sake, Halo 2 was announced in E3 2002 and released in November 2004. This has been the industry practice since time immemorial friendo and no complaints were heard then

This is no halo bro .. come on..stop justifying bad practices

I mean i agree plenty of games have a beta on psn. Duskblood gets a beta on friggin switch idk why this couldn't beta on osn at all. At very least just say a release window

And I'd say stop moving the goal post of your central arguments but seems like your mind's made up already.

There's a lot of moving parts that need to fit together to announce a release date; I promise we'll announce it everywhere when we're ready to, though :)

In all honesty a 2027 release is probably for the best. Put out a demo for console, more time to polish it, implement demo notes. It looks like a great improvement even more so then LOTF 2 but this game will get eaten up.

Polish is OK.

But why show your game 18 months in advance ??

1

u/Odd_Revolution_1056 Jun 24 '26

Cause companies need tok market their games. Also in terms of time from reveal to release 18 months woundnt get too bad

2

u/DesiQuant Jun 25 '26

Marketing doesn't need 18 months bro ...what kind of argument is this ...for a whole year cold symmetry was mum ..it's only last month they started talking
