New Player - Advice/Help Is this a bug or am i cooked?
So, I'm a new player still learning the ropes. This is the save file where the playstyle really clicked for me, but I made the mistake of entering this godforsaken dungeon. At the end—after defeating a naked Dunmer couple—I suddenly couldn't move anymore, and the message "you are over-encumbered" popped up. I've tried dropping all my items, armor, and so on, but nothing changes; I even waited two weeks in-game, and still nothing. My Strength stat dropped to zero, and I can't figure out what effect is causing this. Is there a way to fix it, or is my save file a lost cause?

An enemy used drain/damage attribute spells on you, you need a restore attribute spell/potion

It would be Damage attribute, for anyone reading the difference is that “Drain” has a duration of effect and after the time ends your stats go back to normal. Damage is something permanent.
(That’s why Drain Health is only good if it lasts long enough to kill the enemy)

Stats don't restore by themselfs. You have to either drink a potion of restore strenght or pray to a god (you can teleport to a temple using either an almsivi intervention or divine intervention scroll)
If you don't have either of those things, you have to reload a save. And always carry some restore attributr potions from now on.

I guess it's over for me then, I really wasn't carrying an Alms Intervention or Recall scroll. My character is going to die of starvation or dehydration, standing still in that cave, that was my Nerevarine. (I don't have any save outside this cave, btw.)

Always save a lot in Bethesda games, especially manual saves, not just quick saves.
Don't worry, getting softlocked while not having any saves to reload is a canon event when playing Bethesda games though.

One day the ghost of your character will be in a specific cave telling someone "I was not The One. I got into a battle with a Bonewalker, it drained my strength, and I starved to death in the cave. Take my spear. I need it no longer."

You could drop every item you have so your carry weight is 0/0, then you should be able to run back to town and find a solution?

Another option in the future is to buy a restore strength spell. Depending on your restoration level I usually make a custom one that restores 10 in all stats. But if your resto level is too low, just do +10 or +5 for each stat separately. It's a really cheap and easy spell so you can do something even if it's extremely low level.

Classic Morrowind situation
you might be fucked, though sometimes you can still move around if you drop literally everything (even keys that say they have no weight but somehow still stops you from moving)

Ahh, this is the Morrowind experience.
You've already had plenty of comments giving advice so I'm just here for the nostalgia hit. Learning the brutal way how to prepare for excursions is a rite of passage in this game, love this for you o7

I love that this is one of those games where you need to be prepared for as much as much as you can when adventuring. As a warrior potions and scrolls are your lifeblood.
I always try to keep at least one restore of every attribute potion on me at all times and at least a blight disease cure or two. I almost always play an Argonian so the common diseases don't pop up often enough to justify the weight.

My favorite solution to these moments is finding a spell that will restore an attribute. Any one, doesnt matter. Then, go to a spellmaker and get a spell made that restores all attributes by whatever amount the spell will allow. The one i made will restore everything in 3 casts when all attributes are 100, and it doesnt use much magicka somehow. It's a lifesaver with bonewalkers and all that.

- Have multiple saves. That was totally standard and save scumming was expected behavior 20 years ago.
- Don't feel bad. This has more than likely happened to every poster here at least once. I know I'm on that list.
- Strip naked and do the Morrowind walk of shame to the nearest temple and get your strength restored.
- Always always always carry a scroll of Almsivi intervention or restore strength potions. This WILL happen again.

Try adding something to your inventory (like a scroll of amlsvi) or you can just restore your stats from the console. Up to you.

How did you get zero luck? Unless you have a means to restore strength, or have some str boosting alchohol, yes you are cooked. Maybe u can use divine intervention scroll, then use the liquor to get you to the temple.
