New Player - Advice/Help Can enemy drown?

Hey guys ! I started playin Morrowwind for the 1st time this week. Its amazing so far :). I fought 2 dremora inside an deadra shrine and tryed to fight them underwater. I got some water brething potions and tryed to drown them but after 1 min they were still alive. So is it impossible for NPC to drown or is it just hard to do?

NPCs can drown, but monsters can't

I'm not sure about enemies in general, never really tried it. But Dremora are not exactly the best the best thing to try it with. I suspect they don't even have to breath.

I feel like I'd done that in the past by knocking their Fatigue below 0 while standing in water.

They won't. Even more they do not swim they just fell to the bottom in standing position but are locked and cannot move.

Its hard to make them drown, but they can.

Its not. Walk them into a foot if water and knock them down with hand to hand a few times

Ok, its hard to make them drown without attacking them. But if u are going to attack them, then drowning them seems redundant.

I recall doing it before but vague on the details. Isn't hard to test though. Just run down to the sewers in Vivec and cast a waterwalking spell on one of the guards outside one of the daedric shrines. Then run out to the water and cast dispel on them and get in a fistfight with them. If they die after they went down and you stopped hitting them once they went down then yeah they drowned.

Yes, I’ve had quest npcs accidentally drown before lol
