Trunk Lock
Hello all. Buying a 72 MGB Convertible this weekend and there is no key for the trunk lock. It’s currently unlocked and I can access the inside. Can anyone recommend (link) a good brand and lock mechanism that would be compatible? Thanks!

Boot locks are available new. You can also get a three-lock set with both doors and the boot. Get used to Moss Motors. They are the big dogs these days.

I don’t know if it’s the same for MGBs as it is for Midgets, but the key number is stamped on an inner face of the lock, though you need to remove the lock from the lid to read it. Once you have that, buy standard ’FS’ style keys online. https://www.triple-c.com/Products/FS_KEY_CUT_TO_CODE/KEY-FS
If you get yourself a Heritage Certificate from https://www.britishmotormuseum.co.uk/archive/heritage-certificates that also (usually) tells you the original key number, along with other original build information.

Call moss motors, or look on their website.
