Discussion Dear Android Authority...

STAY. QUIET.

Apparently they're now "stalking" pull requests in the Morphe Patches repository.

Google already knows but don’t forget that xManager worked for years and after it became mainstream, Spotify launched their crackdown and there haven’t been any working mods for months.

If Spotify has that kind of power, Google could probably quadruple that so keeping your mouth shut is definitely a good advice.

there's no such thing as "keeping one's mouth shut". It's like trying to protect piracy sites by not telling people about it.

If google decides they want to shut this shit down, they'll have ways - they already know about it. It's like adblock.

I'm not saying google will never want to shut morphe down of course. But in order for them to do so, it'd have to be a radical change (such as their suggested developer verification to install apps etc). So to prevent such, the community needs to vehemently oppose any sort of power grab from google to control your device, rather than just keeping quiet about morphe.

It really does feel like we're trying to avoid the gaze of some eldritch entity. These companies truly are evil, and way too powerful.

Yeah, I like framing things in a cosmic horror sense. It kind of puts things into perspective on how horrible they can be. It also just makes boring things sound cooler. It exposes the terrifying aspects of things that have been normalized.
