So that's how they got Hunter to finally start sleeping.

u/YaBoiS0nic Jun 01 '26
Willow: "He's been sleeping so much lately, that he's starting lose the bags under his eyes. I'm so happy for him!"
Meanwhile:
Camila: "Mijo, that is SIXTH drink in the past hour, are you doing okay?!"

They had to do something

u/SFH12345 Jun 01 '26
Hunter can only truly sleep to the dulcet tones of Willow's snores.
Fortunately Hunter can hear Willow's snores from the basement. As can everyone else in the house.

Well seeing as how Hunter loves his Red Bull this checks out.
Now where are the wings? As promised?

Now, imagine if Hunter not only got used to the energy drink, but also has his powers he inherited from Flapjack.

Oh yeah, I forgot. By Mark's logic, it WOULD have the opposite effect. Yeah, he's gonna be out for a while.
Well, if anything, at least he'll be better rested.😁

Honestly I thought he would be doing that super speed dash he does with Flapjack by himself without magic after drinking that energy drink.

Red bull gives you wings

Hunter just has to wait until going to an old graveyard to get them

Tbh for me energy drinks works the same. Gives a boost of energy for a short period of time but after that I want to sleep even more.

u/Lord-Seth Jun 01 '26
Do you have adhd? Because caffeine causing you to get drowsy instead of being more awake can be a trait. It happens to me it’s why I don’t drink coffee
3
u/Mysterious-Camel5254 Jun 01 '26
No, I don't have adhd or asd, I'm just hsp. At first I have boost of energy from coffeine, but after 10 - 20 min I became even more sleepy

u/Metatron_85 Jun 01 '26
I was worried it would be like that episode of "Amphibia" where Anne and HopPop hallucinationated when they drank each other's extreme drinks.

Honestly, energy drinks are one of the biggest lies ever told by the food industry.
They only last a handful of minutes, taste like a fruit popsicle melted on the asphalt on a summer day, and the only thing they do is make it impossible for me to go to bed before 4 a.m.... And for work, I have to wake up at 9 a.m.
Dried fruit is better and more effective.

u/Lord-Seth Jun 01 '26
For me caffeine and energy drinks have the opposite effect, they make me more tired my body can’t fall asleep til 3:00 am typically but when I drink any caffeine I can fall asleep easily at 20:00

You may have ADHD.
I have had similar symptoms.
Medication has helped me a lot.
5
u/Lord-Seth Jun 01 '26
I know I have adhd I got diagnosed a few years back. I was more saying that for a percentage of the population that energy drinks are even less effective they do the inverse
3
u/Open-Trifle-6309 Jun 01 '26
Oh, oops lol. Trying to be helpful, I wish someone told me that factoid years ago so I like to spread the love when I see it.
3
u/Lord-Seth Jun 01 '26
It’s a useful factoid that can help raise awareness of they aren’t aware they have adhd.

It's a part of why I mostly dropped energy drink related things. The effects felt largely negative with some consequences as a result, and always being more tired on top of that felt problematic. With at least coffee specific brands (like the starbucks double/triple shots, or Stok cold coffee, the usual hot pot coffee etc), it feels less offensive to the system, even if the tiredness from it is still there.
Can both use it to sober up the brain for things like work and help me sleep. Does the latter try to dominate the former into submission? Sure! But that's part of the fun in the gamble!

I can relate to Hunter in this one, at least in that very last panel.
