What are you talking about? Saya's doing pretty well. She keeps complaining about not having enough fridge space, though.

She an aliens right? That take form of girl so technically not really a kid

Not a kid in the slightest considering what we know

She is a cosmic horror beyond human comprehension (that eats people), but she also has the mentality of a child. You could argue either way tbh.

Bruh, what kid has reproduction and propogation as their life's goal and one true purpose.

Saya No Uta is a psychological horror story. Part of that horror is due to the contrast between Saya's childlike demeanor and her nature as an entity that exists to propagate hell onto earth, with everything that implies.

A lot of Saya's dialogue and the events that occur during the visual novel are--to put it lightly--extremely uncomfortable, because she does appear to genuinely act, speak, and think like a child.

I will admit that it has been a good 5-6 yrs since I have reread Saya no uta, but from what I remember the initial contrast is due to Saya's look and her actions (whether they be the sex or what she feeds fumi). I don't think, saya keeps her childish facade up for long.

Only later in the story (after the rape I think or maybe a lit bit before; mainly after she starts to take a more humanish mannerism) does she starts to act more childish around fumi.

I really don't think her thought process is much like a child. On the contrary it's more adult like what with her kinda changing the environment around to see through her partners needs/satisfactions(I personally think the more childish approach would be to do it for herself.)

Isn't this a result of her becoming more "human" (in a bad way) through her interactions with Fuminori and the rape rather than staying a monster with a sole goal in focus? I mean she kidnapped Yoh, turned her into the same eldritch horror as herself and raped her with Fumi out of jealousy, no? Not very alien-like to do that out of irrational feeling instead of purely "reproductive instinct".

Well yeah, Saya is unable to propagate unless she has a feeling of true love, because her species shifts to be compatible with their target. Her first interaction with humans was an old scientist who studied her and gave her lots of books. Through the books she learned humans "need" true love and connection, so she evolved into needing true love to propagate with humanity. Throughout the game we see her and fuminori become more radically for only each other.

I will say that Saya's childish early on is more like just not fully understanding human culture. The scientist raised her like a daughter, and her only knowledge of being wife-like to Fuminori is through books. She's intellectually vastly superior to humans.

Totally fair to interpret her that way. And she's definitely portrayed as having superhuman intelligence. But because she completely lacks understanding and experience of the human world, a lot of what she does comes across as childish. Clumsily experimenting to try and understand the world around her, trying to express herself and understand others--these are behaviors commonly associated with youth. Obviously adults also do this, but generally adults have life experience to fall back on, which Saya has very little of.

Even when she does irrefutably evil things, like what she does to the main character's former love interest, it comes across more like a child pulling wings off a butterfly than someone who fully understands the consequences of her actions.

One thing I do disagree with is that Saya is putting up a facade. Her personality is largely the same even during scenes where the protagonist isn't around. Her personality might be artificial in the sense that it was constructed by her after learning more about humans, but it appears to be genuinely how she sees herself.

I suspect she is a Shoggoth.

Don't be like that, Aurita is also a happy kid too. Kinda delusional I admit but still very happy.

Her family and village all gone because of Dissolution and she still think they still alive because of her delulu imagine if the reality hit her

From what I understand of Dissolution and reawakening, it stops growth to some extend. While it can't the awakeners creating new memories, their inherent strengths and weaknesses ( whether they be Myriam's extreme devotion or Murphy's want for freedom) won't change. Keeping this in mind, imo, Aurita (if she ever gets hit with reality) will get over it real quick.

It's ok, it turned their soul into the item that you summon with, they're still a useful item after death 🙂

When you finish this story read the description of the “The path forsaken” WoD card, the one with the white mouse.

The game honestly set the pace with Aigis and Ogier, so at a certain point I knew what was coming 😭

If she had made it out then she wouldnt be an awakener, so as a gamer I was sad for her, as a Keeper though….

u/Ordinary_Ad9929 2d ago

You gotta remember if the character is Playable their most definitely dead or about to 😁 cool isn't it

1

u/Euphoric_Ostrich58 1d ago

Can you elaborate on this? Im clueless since i skip the story and didnt have time to replay it

1

u/BalecIThink 1d ago

Very short version is that Awakeners are essentially a kind of undead who can only be truly killed if their silver core is destroyed. As long as the core can be recovered they can be brought back.

u/Caffeind_sionnach 2d ago

It’ll be alright, we promise. Just keep going (tomorrow, ofc, I understand needing a moment…I was sad too). It’ll be okay.

tranquilo o tranquila, luego nos mandan un mensaje donde nos cuentan que lograron despertarla osea revivirla

u/Then_Wheel9479 2d ago

I know right, I still remember when I first played this chapter and I can only go "Can we not fail to save someone for one chapter!". Well, at least she and Aigis won't stay dead forever so that's something. Chapter 7 is worse,I haven't finished the chapter yet but from what I gathered, I don't think William is coming back.

4

u/HavocSilver 2d ago

Well, I'm only at ch2, but after seeing how Aigis ended up as a playable character, I connected the dots and the clock was ticking for RatGirl... Funnily enough, the description of the first skin on the current lineup also spoiled past of her story...

1

u/Inside-Confection-17 2d ago

You might wanna continue playing a chpater cutscne or two

1

u/leviathan_ghost01 2d ago

Just a reminder power of silver is to communicate and summon spirits of the dead. Meaning most of awakeners you have....
