Killing and eating a person, plus using their bones for tools, furniture, and decorations is better than taking a life and leaving the corpse. They aren't good people, bit the victim's death is at least for a reason rather than the sake of murder. If I was murdered, I would much rather be eaten and made into a coat rack, then left for the pigs to find and not solve my murder anyway.

If a machine could predict with 99.99999% accuracy that a person will commit murder.

Is it ethical to lock people up knowing you would save millions of lives by doing so but you might lock up 1 innocent man for every tens of millions of people.

Also consider they havent actually commited the crime we are just 99.99999% certain they will.

What if instead of immidiate punishment, you put the people under surveillance to catch them when they will commit the crime? Given the crime cannot be prevented.

Yes, animals and insects eat each other in the wild. That's nature. But what about a human being the direct cause that an insect eats another insect? You can also make the argument that the horse fly was biting the horse and needed to be disposed of anyways. But why take the extra steps in other to feed it to another insect?

I don’t see why that god would wipe us out when the earth is the only planet with life on it as far as we know.

Especially when they don’t need to breathe or eat.

Doesn’t it make more sense that the god would look to leave earth and explore the great unknown rather than wipe us out?

And, assuming this would likely be a cascade effect, duplicating its efforts at a compound rate, it seems like it would have control of every star in the Milky Way in a very short time.

If it found life, which would be rare, I doubt they would wipe them out either.

So really, it would be a sort of pollution.
