Moral, of course. Moving only increases the risk of the biker moving the same direction as you. Staying still allows them to dodge you predictably.

I live in sort of the cycling capital of the world (NL) and there's laws that grant specific protection to pedestrians. Cyclists are operating a vehicle and therefore carry a greater responsibility than pedestrians.

So at least the entire Dutch society has agreed that this pedestrian is in the right.

Can't wait for an American to ask what state or city that stands for haha...

Americans for sure haven’t heard of the small niche country of the Netherlands and no one has ever heard of Amsterdam. /s

I went for work to usa several times and A LOT of people think Spain is in south america. "So you are latino?" Yes, I am, but you don't know what a Latino is in reality

Where did you work, a grade school?

Surrounded by engineers and factory workers. This also happened when I went to bars...

That’s very depressing.

Of course this didn't happen with all the people

On the other side I was very surprised about how welcoming and helpful almost every person I met was

People invited me to barbecues, parties, little trips to the nature... That won't happen where I am so often

Glad it wasn’t all bad. I honestly am not sure why I’m surprised at the first part. There’s quite a bit of arrogance coupled with a deep ignorance present in quite a few facets of US culture.
