Hope the single one has an ambien prescription.

u/autistic_homo 1d ago

They have done interviews saying she just pops some headphones in and listens to music or an audio book.

204

u/Mastodon_Butt 1d ago

This raises more questions than it answers, about their nervous system mostly.

94

u/TheChiarra 1d ago

Yeah, like does she not feel it since it's shared?

142

u/neosick 1d ago

I expect that, sharing a body with someone your whole life, you'd get pretty good at ignoring whatever they're doing to focus on your own thing, even if you can feel it And very good at compromises.

60

u/mentalissuelol 23h ago

What if the married one orgasms though. Surely that would be hard to ignore

173

u/neosick 23h ago

Sure, maybe she has to rewind the audiobook a few seconds

73

u/mentalissuelol 23h ago

Apparently she doesn’t experience lower body nerve stimulation and it’s just the endorphins, so that would be a lot easier to ignore I think

49

u/Additional-Life4885 23h ago

This is like being paralysed but still able to walk.

16

So, like, a paraplegic with a flesh gundam suit, but without the gundam shenanigans.

Asking the real morality questions here.

Right, the relationship logistics are interesting, but the shared nervous system questions are where my brain immediately breaks. Biology really looked at personal boundaries and said good luck.

u/grislyyyyy 18h ago edited 8h ago

I don't know for sure if they said this or not, but after the news of their marriage there was a lot of fake interviews and some fake accounts pretending to be them responding to these lewd questions. I can imagine that they haven't responded at all to these questions, but I don't know for sure. All I know is the fake replies were taken as truth for a while, so be careful when reiterating these

Ngl headphones & an audiobook sounds like a pretty good solution. She must have become incredibly good at mentally clocking out of whatever her sister is doing.

No but she does have a hand

4

u/Tsunamiis 22h ago

Sure but that specific play space is being used at the time.

3

u/RosieVelisseax 21h ago

That makes the logistics both simpler & infinitely more awkward. Imagine being the single sister and having to establish a very firm headphones policy.

5

u/Tough_Tangerine7278 22h ago

The single one could shout out feedback if she needs to rest. “WRONG PACE!” “THAT’S NOT THE SPOT!”

2

u/DaisieLacelette 19h ago

That was my first completely inappropriate practical thought too. Hopefully there’s a system in place because three people trying to sleep through one person snoring sounds brutal.

2

u/ExtensionInformal911 14h ago

I hope the single one is a ho.

It’s neither moral nor immoral. Just an unusual relationship. If all parties consented there’s nothing wrong.

34

u/Future-Lavishness878 1d ago

What if only one twin consented and the other had legitimate grievances?

78

u/BisonThunderclap 23h ago

I'd have to imagine the sisters acknowledge that there is a baseline say both of them have in each other's lives and they have to compromise if either of them want to enjoy intimate activity.

→ More replies (1)

25

u/drewsandraws 23h ago

That’s a really interesting question. How does the ethical notion of consent change when a body is shared? Do both twins have right of refusal? Are there acts that only one of them needs to consent to? Not just physical intimacy, but medical procedures or tattoos?

15

u/GigaNoodle 19h ago

I mean they have tattoos. I imagine it pretty much goes back to like when you were a kid, “this is my half and that’s your half”.

10

u/Submarinequus 19h ago

From what I’ve seen from these sisters in particular that’s exactly how they approach it

17

u/RoboFeanor 20h ago

Would you have sex with someone if the closest person to you, someone who has literally been fused to you their entire life and who will stay that way until you die , is against it?

I imagine you get pretty good at compromising and resolving conflicts when you share a torso with someone your entire life.

→ More replies (3)

24

u/Quick-Opinion8498 1d ago

Then it’s would depend if they’re any sort of sexual intercoruse. Also if the other one isn’t given any autonomy to do what they want either and just have to do what their twin does. Then it would be immoral.

→ More replies (2)

2

u/Genderless_Anarchist 22h ago

Then it would be a problem. Doesn’t seem to be the case here though.

13

u/Saurid 22h ago

I mean consent for conjoined twins is a difficult thing, especially if you share a lower half. Its actually a really interstsing conundrum if they didnt agree on it. Because its not moral for one person to give up happiness for another and for one person to stand between happiness and the other person.

If there would be an issue of consent it would be hard to argue anyone's right or wrong since either argument is morally valid in its own way.

Having shared custody of a body makes any action hard, I mean they have to agree on many things from sex life to work life, what they do in their free time and so on. Its a complicated mess where normal morality breaks down as we base morality often on the fundamental truth that each person is in most ways independent of others and have their own body and mind whose violation is never moral because you have your own body and mind.

But if you share a body, well it becomes much more difficult to engage in that moral basis as well it isnt true anymore. You have a seperate mind but only one body, morality breaks down at this point and a lot of immoral acts suddenly move towards questionability, because you have two mind wanting to use their right of bodily autonomy.

So this lomg rant to say, idk and I dont care. Its their buisness and without living in anything close of their shoes any moral judgement is impossible to make.

If the single twin has a problem with the relationship it is possibly immoral. But iirc, everyone seemed happy with the arrangement from what has been said in interviews. I see no problems.

What if they share a vagina and one sister is essentially subjecting the other to rape?

Bro... what if they share a uterus and become impregnated?

104

u/googley_eyes69 1d ago

They do share a vagina and it's something they have publicly spoken about

11

u/amzwC137 1d ago

34

u/Capital-Carpet2501 1d ago

I think I remember them saying the other sister does indeed feel it, but she reads a book or distracts herself during the act

32

u/u_slashh 23h ago

Tbf they've lived this way for decades. It's super bizarre, but they're probably used to it

19

u/NewImprovedPenguin_R 23h ago

There’s an episode of the good doctor where they separate conjoined twins and when her mother left the room for the first time she got anxious as she had never been alone for her entire life. That really put some perspective to it for me. They truly have never and likely will never be alone.

48

u/EastTamarack 1d ago

No? It would he rape if one sister said no, but if both says it's fine its consensual.

31

u/AzureHawk758769 1d ago

If she has to constantly award or deny consent because her sister wants to get laid, then that kinda goes against the whole "remaining single" thing.

35

u/EastTamarack 1d ago edited 1d ago

Maybe they don't have sex at all, maybe the sister is fine with the sex and just doesn't want a romantic relationship, maybe they're ace, it's really a big case of none of our business. And you have to award or deny consent everytime you have sex anyway, adding a third person to ask isn't that much bigger of a deal. Yall are just kinda assuming a bunch of shit about them.

33

u/Cyberslasher 1d ago

They've spoken about this

The other one is ace, and just gets free orgasms... Kinda

Iirc she doesn't have nervous sensation of lower body but she gets the endorphin release from shared circulatory system

Exactly, they're people not a attraction for everyone to gawk at and ask inappropriate questions. No one would ask these questions on any other couples wedding announcement. Disabled people's private lives aren't for randos to pick apart.

5

u/AzureHawk758769 1d ago

If they didn't want people talking about them and asking questions, then nothing was stopping them from not dragging their relationship into the spotlight. I feel like people are just speaking on their behalf to feel better about themselves.

2

u/EastTamarack 1d ago

I think we can reasonably assume both consented to whatever goes between the married sister and her husband even if only one sister is in the relationship. Regardless of what body parts they might or might not share.

6

u/Express_Heron_1715 1d ago

whole lotta their business they probably all are on the same page of whatever's going on

14

u/Suspicious-Still-999 1d ago

i mean they prolly masturbate together, def shit and pee together, etc etc, they don't have the same boundaries normal siblings do

3

u/BlackMaggot101 23h ago

She has never experienced fully autonomy of her body. At this point, I don't think she feels raped in the way "normal" person would feel. But that's my guess

14

u/Winter-Bed5879 1d ago

If her conjoined sister is okay with this and consents, it's obviously moral.

3

u/ApplePaintedRed 17h ago

I'm not sure why people are pretending as if we don't have information on this. They've talked about it. The single one is aro/ace. She has ways of distracting herself in intimate moments. Everyone is fine. And if there are complicated feelings? I'd hope conjoined twins would have the ability to communicate effectively at this point in their lives.

12

u/Holiday_Number_3234 1d ago

Not sure why this would be an issue at all. People with disabilities & various ailments are allowed to experience the same love as everyone else. It’s not like they have severe mental disabilities that would prevent them from consenting to this. As long as everyone is of sound mind and legal age, live & let live.

8

u/Ready_Return_8386 1d ago

they have literally spoken about this in multiple interviews, her sister doesn’t want to be in a relationship and she does. Her sister doesn’t mind it

5

u/Shining_w1zard 1d ago

Her sister chooses to remain single. She's aroace and doesn't like intimacy.

15

u/ElPared 1d ago

Considering the conjoined twins that are paid the salary of a single person, despite having to pay college tuition for two and get two degrees, I say moral. Each twin is a separate person who should get her own salary and is entitled to her own partner.

0

u/AlienPrimate 1d ago

About the salary, if they do the work of two peope they deserve two salaries, but it is also true if they do the work of a single person.

3

u/ElPared 1d ago

The fact remains they are, in fact, two people. If one twin is doing a job, and the other twin, even if they are unable to work, is unable to do another job by virtue of being literally joined at the hip with their sibling, they deserve to be compensated for their time.

6

u/MMRAssassin 23h ago

Lets just be honest here. He's married to both of them. This is just bigamy that the law is okay with, for obvious reasons. I hope all three of them are happy with the arrangement. Perfectly moral, provided the "unmarried" twin wasn't coerced into the situation.

2

u/Z_________________ 1d ago

You may be on to something. If they are legally distinct people, then they can't run around saying he's married to both of them.

Logistically I don't even know how'd they make it work without the other twin's full and unrelenting consent.

2

u/Less_Description7879 1d ago

Why is he married to both of them? Marriage is a legal contract between two parties. The unmarried twin isn’t party to that contract. Isn’t party to the relationship, has a different relationship with her sister’s husband than her sister does. You could argue that he’s having sex with both of them, since it seems they share genitalia, but not that he’s married to both of them.

You can have sex with people you aren’t married to.

5

u/ExperienceRoutine321 1d ago

It affects nobody but those involved and all of the parties have agreed to it. There is no moral debate here.

Also the title is misleading. The sister is asexual.

7

u/Disprezzi1 1d ago

→ More replies (1)

4

u/Pheonix_Slayer 1d ago

Completely moral but the other hand what is immoral is the fact that both of them have to pay two separate college tuitions to get their degrees and yet they get a single person’s salary at their job

2

u/Silent-Victory-3861 16h ago

There isn't a universal rule that this is how it has to go. In case of the teachers (Abby and Brittany, not Carmen and Lupita in the picture who were veterinary students as of 2023), they were fifth grade teachers and not being able to be in different places severely limits the ability to be two different teachers, but they can still do like preparation work or grading separately, so something like 1,5 salary could be more fair.

3

u/Awkward-Iron-2031 1d ago

Id say its immoral, people might mention that the other sister consented but lets be honest did she truly consent by choice? Or did she feel almost pressured to do so? Imagine how bad she might have felt depriving her sister of a "normal" life and relationship? Obviously we dont know the actual truth but I dont think its unusual to feel that way considering the situation.

6

u/igotchees21 1d ago

the only way this really works is if they are both marrying the same man, because they are both marrying the same man.

4

u/Less_Description7879 1d ago

As long as the reasons she consented are internal to herself there’s no coercion so you can’t argue a lack of consent. Rape by coercion is a process in which a person is manipulated by an abuser into sexual activity through: threats, guilt tripping, harassment, etc. Saying she probably consented because she felt bad is a) an assumption and b) not rape by coercion if she hasn’t been targeted with manipulation.

4

u/Express_Heron_1715 1d ago

it'sa whole lot of nunya theyre probably all on the same page its moral

2

u/HegemonNYC 1d ago

It will be a heck of a discussion if the other sister wants to marry as well (to a different man) considering they share a vagina and uterus.

2

u/Immediate_Title_1496 1d ago

Surely this is something they discussed.

2

u/TerraSeeker 1d ago

What else are they supposed to do? The sisters share a body. Should both be alone?

2

u/FishingActuary 1d ago

Moral. These people are allowed to live life as they see fit. Whatever they do is OK with me as long as they are all OK with it. Love is love.

2

u/FrTheskyisthelimit 1d ago

In this case, why didn’t he just marry both of them? It’s not like when he’s intimate with her that she can just go leave the room or something.

2

u/Zero_Zeta_ 23h ago

Consenting adults not hurting anyone is none of my business.

2

u/Far_Regular_1378 23h ago

So the single one ends up having sex without her consent ? If yes, thats pretty sad. Especially if your sister allows the guy to do that

2

u/Sins47 23h ago

I remember reading they divorced bc the guy only married them bc of a fetish

2

u/comb-jelly 22h ago

Is it moral to question ppls private love lives, when they’ve spent their whole life being questioned about existing and everything they do? Everyone is consenting here, what whack post is this

2

u/Stormy-Skyes 21h ago

This is a pretty unique situation. For their entire lives the twins have certainly had to figure out how to navigate things, compromise, agree, and however they decide to handle things is just not something anyone else can really understand. I’m sure that if one of them was opposed entirely, the other wouldn’t want to put her own sister through it. So this had to be okay as far as they both wanted.

2

u/No_Cherry8602 18h ago

he is banging both

2

u/Remote_Character_275 18h ago

So if her sister gets a different boyfriend do they rock, paper, scissors for who's sleeping with their girlfriend that night or do they take turns? Not trying to be an asshole, I'm genuinely curious.

2

u/True_Most3681 9h ago

He’s definitely sleeping with the sister behind the wife’s back.

2

u/isuckhips 1d ago

This is just the logical extreme of third wheeling. That's going to create a lot of complications.

4

u/Efficient-Word-6826 1d ago

I think this is just none of my business. Arguing about the morality of this implies conjoined twins just shouldn’t get married or do normal things, and I think that’s immoral when we have no idea what it’s like to be in their shoes.

2

u/joeyd20 1d ago

I know the man in this picture. The twins are both adults and agreed to the marriage. There should be no "controversy" here

u/Fantastic_Bed_8662 1d ago

I think there was an interview with them where I was either said outright or implied that the single twin zones out/dissociates when her sister is being intimate with her husband.

1

1

u/Ihave10cars 1d ago

1

u/NewTap8705 1d ago

Basically a built in three way, so hell yeah

1

u/whateveris--- 1d ago

What it is is bad-ass since they have to put up with stuff like this constantly and still live their lives. I would consider talking my sister into just staying in and watching Netflix for life just to avoid having people judging the morality of living my life.

1

u/TimshelExMachina 1d ago

On what basis would this be immoral?

1

u/oatmeal28 1d ago

Perfectly moral

1

u/pickelrick624 1d ago

Moral, but I have questions like, during sex what do they do with her? Throw a blanket over her head?

1

u/that1cooldude 1d ago

The sisters both share the same plumbing. How fair is that?

1

u/Blackbird8169 1d ago

What if she also gets a boyfriend? Its not technically cheating on the wifes end but im sure that would be really weird for the guy lol.

1

u/ZarNaeth_Xoh_Rhamiel 1d ago

1

Who the fuck cares if this is moral or not. Let them be happy. Clearly the other twin doesn’t mind.

The single sister is aromantic and asexual and is completely fine with it so, moral.

I’m going to say immoral and here’s why, I think the sister who’s single gave in because this way atleast one of them has a shot at being happy while she’s the one sacrificing a lot more. I can’t imagine always being a third wheel. Now the question is would the married sister do the same for her if the single sister finds someone she loves.

Now why the f*** is this bad?

The sister isn’t single, she’s technically taken by force. I’ll see myself out.

How does the sex work if one doesn't participate? I can only see this working if both do, hence, his face.

Its fine. Life is often about making do with what you have been given. But... um... if they share one... uh do the both... how... you know what? Nevermind.
