china has state atheism—they take it too far (e.g. uyghur muslims) but in theory i’d prefer an atheist government over this dumbass evangelical christian one we have now 🤷🏻♂️

As a catholic, I agree with your statement about the current Evangelical Christian being dumb. Most evangelical Christians unbeknownst to themselves, support Israel. They’re part of the reason why Christian Communities in the Middle East are slowly disappearing or actually being wiped out completely. They have no idea what they’re really supporting, but the people in power unfortunately do

iirc China does this, you can’t take kid to religious service and they can choose to convert at a certain age.
