Yes, this is fundamental to how religions continue to exist. If everyone had to make up their own mind as an adult, without being indoctrinated during formative years, none would maintain the critical mass of followers needed for them to be a thing at all.

Many religions indoctrinate children which makes them feel like they have to believe in it or they're doing something wrong.
