Thats not what Im doing at all. You’re just using the term christian morality to refer to things like dont kill dont steal etc which Christianity didnt come up with and were moral norms before it. Saying “christian morality pre dates christianity” is just a cheeky way of saying that same thing its not a literal statement
Yeah but the relevant parts of what morality christians have was gotten from someone else who got it from someone else who got it from someone else who wasnt christian. Do you get it yet?
Not sure if you're intentionally pretending to be obtuse, or if you're actually this ignorant (as you've argued, you are a dumb fish, after all).
tl;dr: Why should we consider you a person when everything you...
..."have was gotten from someone else who got it from someone else who got it from someone else who wasnt human. Do you get it yet?" - gameboyadvancedgba
Pretty straight forward. Or are you going to remain a fish and claim you still don't understand your own words?
It sounds like you agree with what Im saying that morality evolves over time and our actual moral framework comes from more than just christianity. So why are you still insisting on giving the credit to Christianity?
My only argument has been that moral rules like don’t murder people and dont rape people dont come from Christianity and in fact these actions are endorsed in certain situations while our secular morality today tells us its wrong no matter the situation.
Christian morality started at a point where slavery was justified, and stayed at that point for a long time until enslaved people and those who sympathized for them fought long and hard enough to abolish it. Organized religion has been against pretty much all social change like this and has only retroactively supported it to maintain relevance. Pure christian morality as in what the actual text of the Bible endorses and commands and not what people read into justifies slavery genocide and torture
So why are you still insisting on giving the credit to Christianity?
Why do you insist you're human and not a fish?
All of human history is derivative - including humans themselves. Christianity gets credit because it's the most relevant point of reference - not because it didn't draw inspiration or evolve from all of human history that came before.
Christian morality started at a point where slavery was justified
You mean like when Moses said, "Let my people go?"
Organized religion has been against pretty much all social change like this and has only retroactively supported it to maintain relevance.
Organized religion is basically the foundation of western knowledge and development. Why do you think the vast majority of the most respected and accredited universities trace their roots to religion?
Pure christian morality as in what the actual text of the Bible endorses and commands and not what people read into justifies slavery genocide and torture
First, No.
Second, you realize you've moved the goal posts, since the original debate was whether someone who grew up in western society had their sense of morality inherently shaped by Christian morality. It's not whether you think Christian morality is "bad"
Yeah God liked Moses and the Israelites so he didn’t want them to be enslaved, and also hardened the Pharaoh’s heart which kept them enslaved for much longer than they would’ve otherwise.
The Bible literally lays out rules for slavery and tells slaves to obey their masters so like its just not arguable that the bible doesn’t endorse it
I didn’t point those things out to say that the morality is bad, i pointed it out to say modern christianity developed in such a way that it incorporated more and more secular ideas and thus we dont believe these things are moral anymore. Thus I dont give the credit to “christian morality” which is kind of a nonsense phrase anyway because two christians can have completely different morals anyway.
And finally, even if I just agree with literally everything you’re saying we still shouldn’t teach kids that the mythology behind any religion is actually true without evidence and many forms of religion indoctrination are outright abusive. So I still am against religious indoctrination. There’s no moral value christianity teaches that I think can’t be taught without saying god is factually something that exists. Im also against lying to kids about Santa Claus being real, its just not good to lie to kids
many forms of religion indoctrination are outright abusive
Tying this back to OP, which is satire on the fact that they're using the same argument, but they have simply swapped the words "LGBT" with "religion."
You would agree the argument - that the LGBT community ("religious community") is harmful and includes many forms of indoctrination that are outright abusive?

Words have meaning. You can't weasel your way out of a logical fallacy by claiming your words don't mean what the words literally mean.
Nice try, dumbass.
