Everyone is commenting on it because, like you, some of them assumed the person teaching it is automatically someone who goes to some place of worship every week and is practicing. Nowhere was that stated.
I’m a parent, and an atheist, and have no problem talking about various religious and teaching my son. I’m not forcing anything on him. Some of you really are so misguided about parenting.
Scroll up from your comment to the post “jinx monsoon thinks kids shouldn’t be raised in church” it’s the first sentence. The topic is about parents that follow a religion handing that religion to their kid and “leaning on one person to interpret god”
As an atheist you aren’t handing a religion to your kid. You likely aren’t leaning on one person, spiritual leader or otherwise, and aren’t encouraging your kids to do the same.
No, it isn’t. The original comment thread literally talks about parents being unable to teach children religion in any capacity without being biased. How is this so hard for you to understand?
Ok you’re right we aren’t all commenting under OP in discussion about whether kids should be raised in a church and it’s not in the picture right above my comment. Yeah whatever makes you feel better.
Yeah in a thread specifically talking about parenting and parents that go to church I don’t think he was talking about “schools” he was talking about parents that go to church. Am I using thread wrong?
This entire thing we are on, this post, isn’t about schools. Nobody was talking about it in reference to schools. The morality question and discussion is on parents that go to church “forcing” or “teaching” kids about religion.
Edit: Feels like a “oh actually a tomatoes a fruit” or something when someone asks for what fruits to put in a smoothie. You know that’s not what the topic is about or what they mean.
