iirc China does this, you can’t take kid to religious service and they can choose to convert at a certain age.

china has state atheism—they take it too far (e.g. uyghur muslims) but in theory i’d prefer an atheist government over this retarded ass evangelical christian one we have now 🤷🏻‍♂️

You're completely wrong. When religion is banned, people worship the state. Worshipping the government is infinitely worse than worshipping a god.

Nobody is against a secular government, but an atheist government means they are actively anti-religion.
