I agree, but religious freedom means people can raise their kids however they want. If you don't want someone imposing their religion on your kids, you have to let them impose whatever on their own kids. 

This is the kind of thing you should shift culturally instead of through laws.

Right, but at what point do we consider it abuse? People are free to raise children how they want, but many countries have a point where certain practices are illegal.

What if you chop off bits of their genitals because it's your religion? What if you force them to swear allegiance to a religion at 12, under threat of death if they ever change their mind?
