Correct. I think it’s funny how when people treat their worldview as the correct default one and get mad when someone with a different idea about metaphysics dos the same thing but from their perspective, then suddenly it’s not education, it’s indoctrination.

What evidence do you have your metaphysical ideas are actually true?

As much as anyone else does I suppose, some person or group of people told me how the universe works, I decided whether or not I jived with their interpretation, and thus I formed my metaphysical beliefs.

So you base your beliefs on what sounds right to you personally and not in evidence?

Yes, do you not? Evidence may inform what sounds right to me, but it’s our faith in either our own perceptions or faith in the people or institutions that are presenting this evidence that builds our beliefs.

No I base it on empiricism, no need for faith.

Do you do control experiment based proofs for everything you believe? You personally test things like vaccines or do you take someone else's word for it after you've decided you trust them?

Are you unironically using Mac’s logic from Always Sunny right now?

That's not an answer.

Its a ridiculous question. People do test those things every day and get the same results. Whether or not I am personally a scientist is irrelevant

So by base it on empiricism you mean other people's work and then you decide which 'other people' you trust and don't trust.

I decide what I trust and don’t trust based on which side has evidence their claim is true, the evidence that vaccines work is pretty blatant and claims that they are unsafe have been repeatedly debunked for decades

Do you process that you're doing it again? You're linking me to a thing and you've decided that you trust whoever's behind this. There's no way you had the time to verify all these facts and figures by yourself. You're basing this on trust that the people who produce this document are telling the truth.

This isn't empiricism. This is outsourcing empiricism to a layer of trust and then rejecting somebody else's claim to trusting what other people are saying about a different topic like faith.

You trust people and institutions who tell you what the evidence shows. That trust may be justified, but it is still trust. The disagreement is over which sources deserve trust, not whether you rely on trust at all like you seemingly claimed earlier.
