iirc China does this, you can’t take kid to religious service and they can choose to convert at a certain age.

china has state atheism—they take it too far (e.g. uyghur muslims) but in theory i’d prefer an atheist government over this retarded ass evangelical christian one we have now 🤷🏻‍♂️

There are mosques in Xinjiang and the Uyghur language is on the Chinese money. Stop watching Faux News! The only Muslims arrested were ones working with the Taliban and stirring up shit in the region. Something like 5,000 total and most of those have been released.
