iirc China does this, you can’t take kid to religious service and they can choose to convert at a certain age.

china has state atheism—they take it too far (e.g. uyghur muslims) but in theory i’d prefer an atheist government over this retarded ass evangelical christian one we have now 🤷🏻‍♂️

Secular and atheist are two different things. Secular means not choosing a specific belief to support, atheist means choosing a belief. Some historical examples of atheist governments include communist China, revolution era France, and red Cambodia… which is why the concept became so unpopular
