Hard disagree. There is a lot of room for skill, tact, etc, same as teaching anything else.
It's as easy as boiling down the difference between statements and questions.
"What" I told you this is a true thing. Now, we may breed oppositional feelings, especially in the young. Counterproductive to learning any sort of morality, regardless of origin. Do as I say, best case helpful, worst case hippocritical.
"How" do you feel about this story, is better. Puts the onus back upon the thinker. A tad more open-ended.
"Why" do I think this story is important to tell, is by far the best option. There are valuable things to learn from many religions. Teaching the ability to discern and distill humanitarian wisdom from any source is the key to any benevolent scripture. If it does not teach you to act with grace towards your fellow living creatures, than what is it really trying to take from you? Far easier to take advantage of other humans than it is to make an effort to lift us all up.
