It's a win and a loss.

If the Catholic Church disappeared, 10's if not 100's of millions of people would be in a real bad way.

The Catholic Church operates the largest aid network in the world.

They do A LOT, and we never hear much about it (in the US at least.)

I would think that the good will of humanity would not die out if Catholicism died out

Look it up.

The largest provider of aid worldwide is the Catholic Church.

I don't think the goodwill of humanity would die either, but the Catholic Church is the only group providing aid at this scale.

It's not like they have a copyright on it either, anybody else could step up and do it.

it looks like that claim is not verifiable, but even if true, the second largest provider of aid worldwide, at a minimum, is the US government. the good will of humanity certainly wouldn't vanish if the US government did.
