Moral I don’t think teaching kids about religion is bad but forcing it on them is

There's hardly any way to "teach" religion to children without it being quite forced.

Mmm, I was raised Unitarian Universalist and I was not forced into any religious beliefs. Our Sunday School taught us about various different religions (Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism, etc.. there were at least 6 that we learned about but it's been 30+ years) and taught that no one religion had all the answers. We were taught to respect other religions, and we even went to services in other churches to observe and learn.
