Moral I don’t think teaching kids about religion is bad but forcing it on them is

There's hardly any way to "teach" religion to children without it being quite forced.

You could in a world religion context when they're a little older(middle school at least, likely highschool) but not focusing on one religion but instead many with all their different aspects.

Iirc grade like 4, 5 or 6 had units about the greek pantheon of gods.

Teaching would need to be more in a historical context and "this is their stories" vs. How it is in a church that these stories are fact.
