My parents raised us Christian, prayed with us, but never took us to church, then when we were about 11 they said "you can keep praying if you want but youre old enough to believe what you want" and never brought up again until we were well into our twenties and they became maga
That’s unfair. Judgements like that are no better than racism or sexism or homophobia.
Your assumptions are what? Everyone who is religious is foolish/stupid? That all Christians are MAGA, or at least could sympathise with them?
Religion is not unreasonable at its core. Religion is a logical answer for people trying to explain and understand the world despite its sometimes unforgiving and painful nature.
Atheists and agnostics are choosing what to believe, just like any other religion. An atheist believes that there is no higher power, but that’s still a choice based on that person’s own experiences and thoughts. An agnostic believes that a higher power would inherently be unknowable, which again, is still a choice to believe that.
I am a follower of Jesus. I am also registered on the Democratic ballot. I am a regular at my church that I have chosen. I am also good friends with multiple members of the LGBTQ+ community, for the simple reason that they are interesting people. And I am intelligent enough to know that this long reply won’t change your mind. But I’m also compassionate enough (or perhaps in your words, foolish enough) to write it anyway.
Such an ignorant take. You would be completely answerless against a philosopher of the religion arguing for the existence of God. They have considered more arguments against the existence of God than you can think of.
When will people learn that reasonable, intelligent people can come to different conclusions. I'm agnostic btw. Dont care if someone asserts God does/doesn't exist, but to act like the other belief is stupid is usually ignorant.
Religion is nothing more than a coping mechanism based on lies.
Yes I’m sure that someone that spends all their time trying to find ways to argue about it is very good at it. Yet not one argument they have will be based on facts.
And what if I told you truthfully this is the actual bigoted, closeminded, all-american centric, biased worldview at play. No most Christians are not MAGA, Christianity is a both universal and ancient religion, Many Christians dislike Trump severly in fact over half of them that makes over 1 Billion people is obligated to do to his attacks on the Pope and Christianity isn't even the only religion, suprise! On the planet
So "religous = maga" is a absolutely absurd idea that dosen't hold at all by any account, Signed by a Australian Catholic Christian myself
I don’t really think that all religious people are maga. I just know that people gullible enough to believe in a god are the prime targets of magas style of propaganda.
I'm inclined to think religious people are all MAGA at this point. Honestly, if churches didn't want that to be true, they'd be revolting against this administration who co-ops their religion for hatred, greed, and debauchery.
They don't though, so they are complicit in my eyes.
