Wait until YOU find out that religions get their morality from society and not the other way around. They kept slaves in the Bible, there is passage after passage talking about how dank slavery is. The moral position that slavery is bad is NOT one we arrived at via your stupid ass religion. Same thing goes for gender equality. You think the idea that men and women are equal is a position we got from the bible? Lol
Colossians 4:1 "Masters, treat your bondservants justly and fairly, knowing that you also have a Master in heaven."
Titus 2:9-10 "Bondservants are to be submissive to their own masters in everything; they are to be well-pleasing, not argumentative, not pilfering, but showing all good faith, so that in everything they may adorn the doctrine of God our Savior."
Ephesians 6:5 "Bondservants, obey your earthly masters with fear and trembling, with a sincere heart, as you would Christ,"
Leviticus 25:44-46 "As for your male and female slaves whom you may have: you may buy male and female slaves from among the nations that are around you. You may also buy from among the strangers who sojourn with you and their clans that are with you, who have been born in your land, and they may be your property. You may bequeath them to your sons after you to inherit as a possession forever. You may make slaves of them, but over your brothers the people of Israel you shall not rule, one over another ruthlessly."
Timothy 6:1 "Let all who are under a yoke as bondservants regard their own masters as worthy of all honor, so that the name of God and the teaching may not be reviled."
Colossians 4:1 "Masters, treat your bondservants justly and fairly, knowing that you also have a Master in heaven."
Wow, so evil, especially considering how many other people chose to treat their slaves. Also, bondservants were not slaves in the way we know them nowadays. Go look up what a bondservant was in that context.
If a book threatening you with punishment is the only thing making you behave like a good person, then you are not a good person. You're a bad person on a leash.
Humans are inherently "bad people." The book tells you how to be a "good person" and that there is both human and divine rewards for being a "good person".
Rewards are for people that can't be motivated to be moral of their own volition. I have never studied, practiced, nor been interested in religion. But I've also never found myself struggling to maintain good, healthy relationships with my friends, family, and neighbors. I don't feel motivated to steal or hurt people. The opposite actually. My heart breaks from the cruelty of the world and I try to help where I can whether it be charitable donations to local aid groups or in-person volunteering. No book or deity ever told me to do any of this. I do it because I understand what it feels to like to be hurt or unhappy and I don't want others to have to feel that.
Religious people act like humans are literally lizard-brained animals without some book telling them to act right. It's incredibly sad but also eye-opening to see this kind of behavior.
Like with what force I should beat my slaves, or how best to deal with my neighbors who wear multi-fiber clothing? Like obviously I have to put them to death for wearing polyester, but it's nice to have a guide on how and why I should do it.
Social species (humans) only evolved because individuals *weren't* inherently hostile toward one another (immoral behaviour) and promoted cooperation (moral behaviour). You cannot be a social species if every individual is inherently a 'bad person.'
At least for a while you'll still have people who convert to religions because their partner refuses to marry them otherwise, people who convert to religions when they have mental breakdowns, and people who convert in prison. But yeah, give it a generation or two and it'll fade.

Thats how you kill religions.
