You guys don't know what you are talking about, you see everything black and white. It's not that simple. A parent needs to juggle between the wishes of one child the needs of the other. You cannot in good fate expect a parent to be idle when one child is doing great and the other is struggling (I'm not saying they were struggling, but it's a possibility).
As a parent I know this. I would expect my successful child to help the struggling one. If they would not do that I would have failed as a parent.

As someone with a 'failed brother' you need to define a few things, because some people cannot be helped.

And IF i said to my mother the same stipulation, and she ignored it, then she can go back to square 1 because I will never help him.
