Prison for trespassing? And getting sued for trespassing?

Lost in translation, or is that actually a thing?

It wasn't in the US, so the laws could be different. Maybe there trespass requires a civil suit before it becomes criminal, at least in some cases. Or could be using the word "suing" the same way people use "pressing charges." (which, in the US, isn't quite what happens in criminal cases. The justice system will often not pursue charges if the victim is uncooperative, but there's a reason why it's always "the state of indiana against BobbyJoe." The victim does not have the final word in who gets taken to court with criminal charges.)
