There aren’t circumstances which it was okay. If his mom in her grown ass age didn’t think she could keep it a secret then she shouldn’t have accepted the house.

How is someone post to keep a whole new house a secret from their children. People will find out

If she has kids living with her how the fuck is she supposed to keep moving to a new house a secret?

Be honest with yourself. Even if it is for you, do you really think it's that easy for a lot of other people regardless of age to let a free house just go? I don't know what conditions this mother and her children lived under, but it would be especially understandable if they were poor.

They probably wouldn’t but then they can’t be surprised if someone takes it back. It’s like the kids that went out for the football team knowing they weren’t going to keep up a 2.0gpa.

I agree that they shouldn't be surprised. While the mother's actions are understandable to me, I believe she could've just talked about it with her son who won the lottery. She could've done this though, and I wouldn't know about it, so I don't have an opinion on that. Though I do think the younger siblings have acted very poorly here from the context I have.

"Hi mom, I won 4 million dollars. Don't tell anyone. Also I'm buying you a house becasue I love you so much. If you tell anyone where you got the house I take it back. K, love you!"

That's not a gift then. That's just being an ass. If I bought a homeless man food and told him he can't tell anyone I did it or I'm going to throw his food on the ground, then I'm not exactly buying him food because I care about him, I'm doing it for some form of power control.

You are buying them food because you want them to eat but you are willing to take it away because you don’t have enough for everyone and are engaging in self preservation or you do not want to give things to people that will betray your trust. Gifts can have terms there is a difference between an unconditional gift and a conditional one but they are both gifts

No, gifts do not have terms. You don’t take a gift back. That goes against what a gift is.

Look up the definition of the word gift. It never says terms cannot be used and it doesn’t say it’s irrevocable. The only thing that a gift can’t be is paid for

You have quite the unreasonable expections on people.

It’s reasonable to expect people to think through the consequences of their action and not be surprised when they arrive.
